I thought he clearly lost to Hurd. Close fight with Canelo I gave to Canelo because of the bodywork he did. Against Williams he was in fact robbed.

What about Molina though, there was a draw that probably should have been a loss, imo.

Yeah I'll give you that one. I was only really referring to his losses because I just watched them but you're right that Molina probably beat him and deserved the nod. It's weird that he was the one to have given him so much trouble but then again Molina was a weird dark horse figure at 154. Could pull it out against the best despite his record.

Everytime I watched the Canelo fight the clearer it looks like Canelo won.

So underrated, seems to be a nightmare to deal with for everyone. Slippery southpaw with great foot movement and excellent straight punching, probably the best of current fighters at moving. Maybe Ioka has a shout as that too. Regardless. I'm always impressed with how he's adapted that classic Cuban amateur style to the pros. How would you rate him talent wise? I think it's a shame he won't be remembered as one of history's possible #1 p4p fighters in his era.
              - -Did Lady Lara even show up for them fights other than to pick up a paycheck?

Good thread...I've said it many times...if he was from the US UK or Mexico he would very likely be undefeated right now.

To be clear I saw him lose 7-5 to Canelo...but point being is that being a 'boring' no-English-speaking Cuban, he got no favors in his fights.

One of my favorites to watch...my only issue with him is he would tend to piss away rounds and make fights closer than they should have been.

Looking back at Gamboa, Rigondeaux and Lara, I’m impressed surprised that Landy had the best career. I thought he was the least talented of the three. Goes to show that talent isn’t everything. You never know what you’re gonna get with Lara; sometimes he’s exciting, but often he’s inactive and boring. He’s a very skilled guy, though. No doubt about that. I thought he narrowly edged Canelo, but I understand why he lost. He got robbed blind against Williams. And although a lot of people think he lost to Molina, I thought the draw was fair. I see Landy is a top guy, and someone who’s had staying power, which is important. But he’s not a great. He’ll be remembered by the hardcore fans as a tough out for anyone in his era.

No, was pointing out the fact if he was such a master boxer and super talented as some suggest. The judges should have never had the chance to rob him, because he would have clearly dominated. Getting robbed happens all the time. But with lara most of the time he just did enough and it cost him. Never stepped on the gas.

He has only himself to blame. He doesnt do enough. He throws a one two without the 2 and then cries robbery every time he loses

I can barely remember the canelo fight, all i remember is having a bet on canelo and thinking he would be lucky to win considering all he did was land a few bodyshots all fight.

He lost to castano and i never watched the williams fight.

He probobly should of won the canelo fight but it was still close, not exactly robbery of the decade. He, like badou jack simply does not do enough, doesnt throw enough punches, takes rounds off and then cries when the decicion goes the other way. Its kinda annoying. No one would care if he retired. Hes extremely boring and has no fans ( bar a couple of boxing hipsters) for a reason.
