I like Lara (trains out of Houston) and it sucks he has been on the unfortunate side of some close decisions. The only two I think he should have taken clearly are the Paul Williams fight and the Vanes Martirosyan fight that came to an end on a cut.

All that said if I remember correctly he got a fortunate decision of his own against Carlos Molina (do not personally like his style) prior to the Williams fight.

Now as far as Carlos Molina goes, (personal life aside) he has gotten the bad end of decisions and outcomes in a lot of key fights. The Kirkland one being one of the sorriest ways for a fight to come to an end with De la Hoya encouraging the DQ.

But with lara most of the time he just did enough and it cost him. Never stepped on the gas.
            Oh stop it.

Master boxers get robbed all the time.

            Pernell Whittaker got robbed.
            Jersey Joe Walcott got robbed.
            Lennox Lewis got robbed.

            All in fights they dominated

I agree with that, I was just saying their are a lot of people who are saying he got robbed in all his losses. We all know that's not the case, and sometimes him along with his fans have to realize the blame lies with him. Obviously master boxers get robbed.

Well he is a typical Cuban outboxer so his style is no surprise.

Lara is a great fighter . Robbery wise I think the William's decision was criminal !!! Lara has been a part of some of the worst decisions of the last decade . I personally had Hurd winning becuase of the knockdown but wouldnt argue if Lara got the nod ( iam going off just watching the fight live and scoring it as the fight went ....nothing too critical ).

That being said , Lara has struggled with some odd very slow styles . Until he broke angulos orbital bone I thought he was losing that fight ( although he was coming on as the fight progressed) , and i also thought he lost to Carlos Molina. Now I believe Lara likely underestimated these two guys , but that's on him , and he did beat angulo , and the record books show a draw in the case of molina . I also felt Lara beat castano in a close fight , but I wont argue the draw . It was very competitive , again just my opinion . I def dont think Lara is close to or the number one p4p fighter of his era , not even close . One could argue top 10( not saying I would) . But even that's a stretch .
