I watched all of Lara's losses

That man very easily could have won all of those fights. Canelo and Williams robbed him IMO and Hurd only sc****d it on a knockdown. Lara is really something else. So underrated, seems to be a nightmare to deal with for everyone. Slippery southpaw with great foot movement and excellent straight punching, probably the best of current fighters at moving. Maybe Ioka has a shout as that too. Regardless. I'm always impressed with how he's adapted that classic Cuban amateur style to the pros. How would you rate him talent wise? I think it's a shame he won't be remembered as one of history's possible #1 p4p fighters in his era.

Excellent talent and one of the best in his generation Imo, but will never get the recognition or credit deserved because most were “bored” by him.

He definitely beat Williams. I thought Canelo beat him and I think Hurd could’ve went either way, the KD was likely the difference.

Canelo fight could have gone either way, but he clearly beat Williams and Hurd in my eyes. Utter robberies.

Those who are bored by him don't understand the finer technicalities of defensive boxing clearly. I think he has a decent punch too so it's not like he'd simply shoeshining and stealing wins. He was just outboxing fools.

Hmmm I see how you'd think Canelo won it with the body shots but his output was poor and eventually Lara started blocking or slipping most of his work when he figured out his plan. Thought that despite the obvious running he did a great job walking Canelo onto his one two and Canelo couldn't deal with it. Plus Canelo, as always it seems, had too low a punch output to win rounds. He fights like he's a counter punching knockout artist but when he doesn't hurt his opponent he generally looks out of sorts.

To be fair I think that Hurd may have lost it too. Maybe I let that knockdown sway my decision because Hurd was totally outboxed otherwise. But the point stands that Lara is yet to have any loss that isn't controversial. He's truly a great fighter and deserves to be remembered as such.

I think he was and is very good but I don't rate him anywhere near as high as you do. I don't think he was even close to being the best fighter of his era. For one thing he RUNS way too much in some fights. I thought Canelo clearly beat him in a close fight. At times Canelo damn near chased him out of the ring. I thought Hurd beat him even without the knockdown. Mediocre plodding Angulo knocked him down twice. Great fighters don't struggle with Angulo. He had too many close fights, draws and losses against average fighters to be anywhere near the best and I don't remember him ever being on pfp best lists even down at number 8, 9 or 10. He got robbed in his fight with Williams but not all of his losses and draws were robberies.

Lara just wasn’t anywhere near active enough for me, I thought he barely did anything for 7 or 8 rounds. Had he imposed himself more he could’ve won that fight.

True, he did take his foot off the pedal in terms of throwing shots for a bit but Canelo didn't capitalise too well and kept walking onto his one two. It was close but I found it clear enough to have been a Lara win. Judging by the varying reactions to Lara's losses here I think it's fair to assume that no one has been able to deal with his style that well so far. This is why he should be considered a legend, especially at 154. Probably one of the greatest at 154 ever. Easily a top 5 in the division.
