People seem to have the idea that Jirov was really good. He really wasn't that good. Tough and relentless yes but not a very skilled fighter.

It's the weird circular logic people have with Toney. Jirov must be good because Toney is the ultimate fantasy fighter and only someone great could possibly make for such a great fight with a great fighter like James Toney.

usyk doesnt have elite speed or power. he has good footwork and conditioning so i can see why people are saying he might win. if usyk were to win it would be on points from a split decision. his only chance is to stay on his bike and jab the **** out of toney staying on the outside. even then toney would probably still win lol

Usyk is a stylistic nightmare for Toney, he would be outboxed with ease and lose a lopsided decision.

Anyone with any kind of movement and skills is going to trouble Toney and and Usyk has both in abundance.

The Tiberi fight triggered government investigations into boxing. You can pretend that robbery was thrown around loosely but it is absolutely one of the most well known robberies in boxing.

And you know what, even if you want to pretend it wasn't a robbery, it was still a fight that a LOT of people had Tiberi winning. You're seriously going to pretend Toney couldn't possibly lose at cruiserweight or heavyweight to a fighter like Usyk when he was in hugely debatable fights with WORSE fighters in his prime?

My argument sounds like I'm on crystal meth when all I'm doing is pointing out the Usyk or worse level fighters that Toney couldn't beat clearly and many people had him losing to? What? Just repeating a dumb insult doesn't make it any better or make you sound any more right. Especially when you are offering literally no dissenting opinion here about these fights.

No one could even argue that Toney beat Tiberi. It's not possible to argue that. He lost, CLEARLY.

Most people haven't seen those fights though you're right, or flat out pretend they didn't happen.
