FACT: Kovalev could have taken that fight

FACT: Stevenson showed no interest whatsoever on at least 2 prior occasions

I am not arguing with you about who ducked who... know why ?

if lineage is all about who ducked who... then you just proved my point PERFECTLY... lineage is shlt !!

it either happened in the ring... or it is not worth discussing

That's not true. Stevenson was a restricted free agent and was obligated to seek other offers and bring them to HBO for HBO to match or not. Over a mere 50k, HBO refused to do Kovalev vs. Stevenson and Stevenson was let go by HBO.

Wrong. When I catch someone lying is when I'm able to prove my point. It's not my fault I catch so many people lying on this site.

          what a load of bullshlt

listen, you HAVE to answer my question... if you wish to continue this discussion

or the question below, WILL be the last man standing...

how does Canelo fit into that " lineage " wankery... ?

Canelo was ranked the #1 middleweight on the planet because of lineage... which is ABSOLUTELY ABSURD... because he had never faced a middleweight opponent, and he had never weighed more than 155

I REALLY need an answer to that question

lineage is either 100% valid... or it is not valid AT ALL... there is no "oh, but..."

the Canelo question needs to be answered, period

it will be the last man standing

            regarding Kovalev/Stevenson...

a pointless (probably endless) debate... especially with a fan of either side

            but...

            FACT: Kovalev fought everybody else
            FACT: Stevenson fought nobody else

the tried and true method, suggests what really happened in the situation

            same with Golovkin/Canelo
            same with Golovkin/Ward
            same with anyone else

usually easy to see whats up

Regardless what any beta dweeb says online, Tyson Fury beat the man who beat the man, etc etc.

                  no WBO... ?

not sure if the WBO even existed back then

nobody is going to rank Spinks over Tyson... so, how meaningful is lineal?

how does that not prove my point entirely... ?

who remembers that lineal champ... ?

where does he rank in history... ?

how did being lineal champ help Spinks when he got in there with a REAL champ?

the " lineal " champ... it just a fan concoction, born from frustration at having multiple sanctioning bodies... and it was supposed to be based around being undisputed

I just don't see it has any value or meaning whatsoever

it is literally a fan award... a paper title... a paper title that is OFTEN disputed, because nobody can agree on when lineage started/stopped whatever...

who settles disputes between world-wide boxing fans... ?

currently, nobody can agree on whether Fury is the lineal champ

how come you still refer to Spinks as a lineal champ today, despite the fact that he got DESTROYED by Tyson... and yet many boxing fans refuse to recognize Tyson Fury as lineal champ, despite the fact that Fury is undefeated?

                  see what I mean... ?

it just means absolutely nothing to me

                  the following has never changed...

a lineal " champ "... could, be the best guy in his division... or, he may not be... and OFTEN, he is not... as your example proved

same as P4P... over-rated, and largely irrelevant

plenty of P4P fighters lost to guys who were not P4P fighters

who cares... Joshua beat him as well

I think that Fury is the best heavyweight on the planet because I saw him beat Wilder, and because I think that he will beat Wilder again...

... not because of that other bollocks

That is fine, I wouldn't expect anything more from a millenial. Boxing has a long and storied history, and you cannot, nor can any other modern-day casual, snowflake "fan" just disregard that history. You can deny it and have meltdowns about it, like your generation does about anything they can't understand, or that makes them uncomfortable. It might mean nothing to you, because you don't know chit about boxing. But for those who know, the Lineal title is serious business. Your opinion means chit, you are a drop in the ocean of morons who think they're current, edgy, smart-ass, etc. The Lineal titles of Boxing predate you by over 100 years; they were here long before you, and they will be here long after you. But go ahead and carry on acting like a teenager going through puberty.
