He has power, he is technically sound, he has a pretty decent resume by todays standard, and he is a smiling, good humored guy. But I really do like to cheer for Ortiz. A great father, a likeable guy, and he is an across the board good boxer. If you were scoring all the things that make a decent fighter on a scale of 1-10, Ortiz may set at a 7 on every one. No spectacular weakness, no terrible strength. Just a freaking good, well balanced fighter.

I would love a Joshua/Ortiz fight way more than that tub of goo, unproven Miller.
I agree with your assessment although I think Ortiz is unproven too. His first real test he was knocked out in a fight that he had it his own way for much of the fight. Honestly I don’t even think he punches that hard. Him going 12 rounds with Kauffman showed me that

I agree but I wish I could still see old man Ortiz getting totally obliterated. Apparently the cancer of our boxing, Haymon agrees too, Ortiz has no chance, otherwise he would put him in there.

I can't argue. He isn't a huge puncher. But I do believe there is enough power in his leather to keep his opponents honest, and Joshua is hittable. I do not think he has proven he is above a "B" level fighter either, but he truly is the best option out there. Ortiz surely deserves this fight more than anyone else on that short list.

Besides, it gives Wilder and Joshua a common opponent within about a year, and how much fun would that be for all the fans boys and haters?

Loud? He doesn't even speak English.

Freddie has been wrong many (Floyd vs. Oscar), many (Floyd vs. Cotto), many (Floyd vs. Pacquiao) times! Wasn't Lebedev going to beat Gassiev?

I find it ironic that the same people who made excuses when GGG vacated his IBF title instead of fighting Derevyanchenko, are now complaining when Ortiz refuses to fight Joshua, even though he would only have approximately 5 weeks to train for the fight!

Couldn’t agree more I said the same thing..... Joshua is very hittable as Povetkin proved. Will be a good fight whilst it lasts

Eh, don't blame Ortiz' people for not taking it with less than optimal time. I also dont think Ortiz has any problem fighting AJ although being subjected to the VADA testing without prior warning may be an issue for him.

I also think AJ would probably handle Ortiz without much issue. The more I think about it, the more I could see Michael Hunter being the most dangerous of the potential opponents being mentioned.

Life ban for Miller? What about fighter your are training, Fury. Fury is also a steroid cheat, do you want a life ban for Fury too? What is it Roach?
