  • Despite Prograis looking incredibly shopworn with diminished punch resistance, he still managed to win rounds and land on Cartterall....

  • Always liked Regis going back to his first time on ShoBox. At his best, he was aggressive and could take heavy shots to land his own spiteful punches. He's always been classy and gracious.

The past few fights, he's shown he's a bit shopworn. Against Cartterall, his legs stiffened whenever...

  • Elvin Ayala is 43 and returned after a 5 year hiatus. Currently a 6 fight losing streak and most of those by stoppage IIRC. One of the many ugly sides of the sport.

I remember when he was a decent prospect many years ago....

  • Sounds like much ado about nothing. Different gloves distribute the padding differently. Some are better for puncher's, some are better for those who have brittle hands, etc.

Wardley punches hard. It's not hard to see based on his previous fights....

  • I thought Ramos beat Lubin (and I am a Lubin fan) but the fight was underwhelming and I thought both could have done more...it ended up working for Erickson.

I'd be surprised if Jermell jumped back into activity with a first-fight against Ramos. It's a dangerous fight, Jesus is a big 154lber...

  • Definitely. He was all about that smoke. We all complain about fighters not fighting each other and then criticize them and call them "bums" when they lose. I liked his father as a fighter and was ambivalent to him but I respected him for going after tough fights......

  • He likely would have beaten Kownacki if he started fighting back earlier or if it was a 12 round fight. He had Adam gassed and hurt at the end of that one. Nearly had Ortiz out too. I don't think he beats AJ but I do think the big crowd and bright lights of the event likely didn't help his performa...

  • There are options there for him but I don't see Okolie's skillsets translating to HW success. He employed big man tactics at CW but I doubt he will be the big man at HW....

  • Wardley hits hard and is very aggressive...he also can leave himself open to getting hit. I remember when he was rocked by Eric Molina while trying to get the stoppage himself. Those types of fighters have high variance of performance. He could spectacularly spark someone out or he could get flattened...

  • To me it seems the Saudis like their heavyweight fights and they've put a lot of these matchups on their cards. This one has the main event, Fisher/Allen, and Itauma/McKean. Madrimov/Bohachuk isn't heavyweights but it's a great fight that should provide action....

  • I read that too. I'm always skeptical about anything that comes out of a promoter's mouth especially when it comes to accountability and who is to blame.

I agree that there is a difference between the level of Bakole and that of McKean....

  • Spot on. Bob likely has revisionist history on this one... acting like TR was vehemently against the Bakole fight but it was all Jared's greed to blame. Bob knew what would likely happen but he was willing to go through with it to make His Excellence happy....

  • Completely agree. No blame cast, Bob always does what he thinks is best for TR, even if they means he has to do a 180 on any given position.

The red flags were there regarding Anderson well before the Bakole fight. The comments about an early retirement,...

  • Martin with a soft touch opponent before one final attempt at a run. McKinney lost in 2 to Arreola and in 1 to Dante Stone.

I always liked Martin more than most, the circumstances of how he won and lost his title forever stained the rest of his career. He almost got King Kong Ortiz out...

  • Bob is always saying the truth until he decides he wants a different truth. Bob doesn't like women's boxing until he likes women's boxing, Bob doesn't like Saudi fights until he likes Saudi fights, Bob likes Jared's chances until he doesn't like the matchup...

Bob says he will rebuild Anderson...

  • Interesting that ProBox is giving Miller a platform. He was ringside giving commentary during their last fight card and now we have an article with him giving insight into AJ/DuBois.

  • I'm surprised by this announcement but I think you've pretty much hit the nail on the head, especially with the the comment in bold. She had the early bad blood with Esparza and they tried to build on the Valle fight but that kind of fizzled in the ring. Because of her looks and ability to communicate,...

  • Perhaps but I think that McKean isn't "too much too soon". McKean's stock rose by almost going 12 with Hrgovic but Filip didn't look that impressive that fight. Demsey's best win is a late rounds stoppage of Johnny Rice. Bakole was a monster before the Anderson fight, I thought Anderson was...
