Canelo vs. Smith did less than 300,000 buys.

Canelo does one million buys when he fights another huge name, but Canelo vs. Fielding would have died on PPV. The DAZN deal was a god send because there were very few opponents left Canelo could do big PPV numbers with. He was never like a Mayweather where he could put up big numbers against a Maidana or Guerrero.

Ticket prices here are a lot more than in the UK, so you can't just compare numbers because $$$ is what matters.

Edit: This is by country but it shows you how dominant the US is in this area while UK people sell $20 tickets and brag about sellouts. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...ues_by_revenue

You'd literally have to combine the top 4 soccer/football leagues just to be over the NFL in revenue. Combine our other major sports and it's not even a contest.
no one cares about American football or baseball except Americans.....it’s basically a girls version of English rugby union, baseball is also based on a girls sport we invented called rounders lol
You have this obsession that New York makes such a ton of money but even London has taken over from NY as it makes more money in its financial
      District than Wall Street now..

canelo did 550 vs khan an de over a million vs Chavez. You are going to far back with Smith. Mayweather still didn’t hit a milkionnwith guerrero or Maidana although they were good numbers. about he did 390k vs Berto

The Smith fight was AFTER the Khan fight, so you look like a fool when you say I'm going too far back, but then you go even further back.

Considering you guys don't have much else going on over there other than boxing, AJ sells tickets but most of the people buying tickets are only going to drink and sing and are casuals just looking for something to do... lol

Wilder vs. Fury did over 325k, which is a great number for two guys headlining a US PPV for the first time. The industry expected the rematch to do at least double that number.

If Joshua vs. Wilder took place on PPV this fall after both win their next fights, and all four belts were on the line, the fight would easily do over a million buys and 1.5 would be possible.

AJ is totally unknown in the United States. It's not even up for debate

I dont mind people jumping in to say their piece but im getting bored of all the lie's. Anthony Joshua isnt massive in the US but he is not unknown. Deontay Wilder is known in the US but he isnt the biggest Boxer, not even close. Its not spin, its not angle, it is just lies. They are just saying what they want to say regardless if it is true or not.

We just seem to be at a time where when you want to make a point you just lie. Im sure Wilder fans would love to say Wilder is the biggest name in Boxing in America and that Joshua is unknown but its just not true. But these days thats not enough to stop them. If they want to say it they will say it.

Its like Espinoza and the emailed "term sheet". We all know there wasnt one and there hasnt been any mention of any "term sheet" for a year but now it would help Espinoza to say there was one he is just going to come out and say it.

We all know Wilder and his cronies jumped up on Breazeale and his family. There is video footage and we all know what happened and have known for ages what happened. But now Breazeale is bringing it up and people are listening Wilder is telling us things happened very differently. Hes just choosing to blatantly lie even though we all know what happened.

It just seems that SPIN is yesterdays technique. Todays technique is to just lie about things.
