Of course Wilder is bigger in US. Only Aj worshippers and idiots didn't know that.

I don't know what the biggest market is in the US but New York has to be one of the top if not the top. They have 2 teams in all the major sports. The 2 NBA teams already mentioned, 2 NFL teams (Giants/Jets), 2 Major League Baseball teams (Yankees/Mets), 2 NHL teams (Rangers/Islanders) and a soccer team but I doubt that adds muchHe lost me at
“New York is the biggest sports market in the world,” Yormark said. “There’s no question about it. Just like there’s nights where the Nets and the Knicks play, and the market is big enough to support both of those events”.
Dare say that wouldn’t even make it the biggest sports market in the US, let alone the world. Just off the top of my head, Manchester, when United and City play at home would attract a combined crowd of over 120,000... then you might have a boxing sellout at the MEN Arena on the same night.
Then you’d have London with Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, West Ham... plus Twickenham, Lords for Cricket, York Hall etc.
- Sprinkle in some big boxing events and yea they probably have an argument.
Ticket prices here are a lot more than in the UK, so you can't just compare numbers because $$$ is what matters.
Edit: This is by country but it shows you how dominant the US is in this area while UK people sell $20 tickets and brag about sellouts. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...ues_by_revenue
You'd literally have to combine the top 4 soccer/football leagues just to be over the NFL in revenue. Combine our other major sports and it's not even a contest.Last edited by chicken-; 03-25-2019, 05:13 PM.Comment

****, at the equivalent of $30 a ticket, how many fighters wouldn't sell out stadiums over there? What's AJ's gross ticket sales? You would hope this true on home soil, bigger star by far is AJ. Wilder is not packing stadiums and is barely known at all. He's better known as some loud mouth classless lady's on TV's boyfriend or whatever lol. Once AJ comes to town like Fury he will take over too and keep making boatloads more money while Wilder turns down the biggest payday he was ever going to see.Comment

Compare overall gate receipts and I, dare say Arsenal, United or City would outstrip the Jets or Knicks. Add in merchandise, rights etc and perhaps not. So fair enough.I don't know what the biggest market is in the US but New York has to be one of the top if not the top. They have 2 teams in all the major sports. It just seemed an odd boast to make his point. In a city of 8m plus you can support two sports markets in one night? Wow. Well done.Comment

Not sure if you've been paying attention to the U.S. late night entertainment scene, but if you're a big star you don't wind up on the Conan O'Brien half-hour late night show. Conan hosts stars from Geico commercials.Comment
