Why would an unknown be guaranteed around $30m from his first headline fight at MSG against Miller?

Why would an unknown get 700k+ viewers on HBO replay for his fight against Klitschko?

Why would an unknown appear on all major talk shows and radio shows in the US?

Wilder vs. Fury did over 325k, which is a great number for two guys headlining a US PPV for the first time. The industry expected the rematch to do at least double that number.

If Joshua vs. Wilder took place on PPV this fall after both win their next fights, and all four belts were on the line, the fight would easily do over a million buys and 1.5 would be possible.

So you think the addition of Anthony Joshua can bring in an additional 1.2 million buys. Even though it’s claimed he’s unknown in the us. It’s one or the other it can’t be both.

Personally I don’t think the number would’ve doubled. The last controversial fight that had an immediate rematch on ppv was ward vs kovalev and the second fight did less buys than the first despite the controversial ending. I thought the first fight was entertaining too.

I just think it’s funny wilder fans will say aj is unknown then in the next sentence talk about how the fight will generate 100mil despite wilder only selling 325k ppvs last time out. If wilder was a big enough name to sell 1.5 million ppvs off his own back the breazle fight wouldn’t be on regular showtime.

Considering you guys don't have much else going on over there other than boxing, AJ sells tickets but most of the people buying tickets are only going to drink and sing and are casuals just looking for something to do... lol

That’s a nice narrative to push but it’s lies. Boxing is probably the 4th or 5th sport in Britain but if those lies make you feel better carry on telling them. Boxing is in the national newspapers twice maybe three times a week at best.
