Why would an unknown get 'offered' a 50m guarantee by Showtime?

Why would an unknown be guaranteed around $30m from his first headline fight at MSG against Miller?

Why would an unknown get 700k+ viewers on HBO replay for his fight against Klitschko?

Why would an unknown appear on all major talk shows and radio shows in the US?

    Go.

So you think the addition of Anthony Joshua can bring in an additional 1.2 million buys. Even though it’s claimed he’s unknown in the us. It’s one or the other it can’t be both.

Personally I don’t think the number would’ve doubled. The last controversial fight that had an immediate rematch on ppv was ward vs kovalev and the second fight did less buys than the first despite the controversial ending. I thought the first fight was entertaining too.

I just think it’s funny wilder fans will say aj is unknown then in the next sentence talk about how the fight will generate 100mil despite wilder only selling 325k ppvs last time out. If wilder was a big enough name to sell 1.5 million ppvs off his own back the breazle fight wouldn’t be on regular showtime.

Out of interest why is it on regular showtime I thought wilder was a ppv fighter now? Is it because his people aren’t fully confident and think that breazle on ppv would be a disaster and potentially hurt his bargaining position for a future fury or aj fight?

That’s a nice narrative to push but it’s lies. Boxing is probably the 4th or 5th sport in Britain but if those lies make you feel better carry on telling them. Boxing is in the national newspapers twice maybe three times a week at best.

This site amazes me every day. Joshua is unknown so they should’ve accepted the flat fee dazn offer right? Joshua is unknown so there’s no point in putting it on ppv. Same idiots screaming 50/50 are the ones saying aj is unknown and even funnier still they think turning down 100 mil is a smart idea.

I figured out why Wilder garners hardly any respect or status.
He has zero awareness or respect for the public. He literally just lies through his teeth as he's just putting on a fake persona. I blame his team and handlers. It's their low self esteem and self absorbed loathing that has made Deontay Wilder such a fragile, uninteresting "star". Deontay Wilder is walking the walk. Sweet. Now how about talk the talk and address the critics who think you and your team are hapless fools who are in over their heads.

Biggest American boxer in the US? Wow, amazing Mr Wilder, you're more popular than Shawn Porter. An accomplishment that will never be forgotten im sure... smh

Biggest superstar based in America? LOL! Delusional, Canelo says Hi!

Bigger star than AJ in America (using ESPNs debunked stats as a basis) BARELY true and thanks entirely to the Fury fight. Source, google trends. https://trends.google.com/trends/exp...%2Fm%2F02rny4c I think he needs to sell out a little Arena before we go down this road...

Geez, you won't stop wriggling around trying to make a real point, will you? Where are we at? AJ is the bigger global star, Wilder the marginally bigger name in the U.S. Do we agree on that much?

Maybe , maybe not . I will private message you my thoughts. It doesn’t look good and paints the wrong image a joshualite openly agreeing with a point a Wilderlite makes. I hope you can appreciate my untenable situation

No you have it all wrong Espinosa asked Wilder if he should make the fight PPV and wilder insisted he wants the fight free for his people. May 18th the future is bright. Grab your baby oil because there is going to be a massacre. Deontay by majority decision.
