Canelo or Loma appears to be having the best decade. Canelo can seal the deal with a clear win over Jacobs and another good win later in the year. I don't think he deserved the first Golovkin draw ....and not sure he deserved the rematch win with Golovkin but Canelo got the decision. His Mayweather loss was when he was very underdeveloped so that is insignificant. If Loma or Usyk can do something very impressive by the end of 2019 then maybe they can snatch the fighter of the decade from Canelo. We won't know who deserves that title until the decade is finished.Comment

I think a couple things work against Ward. His first fight in the Super 6, and one of his best wins (Kessler), took place last decade in 2009. He also fought once or less in 7 of the 10 years this decade. Not enough activity, and like it or not, the Kovalev wins are viewed as controversial. I think the writer clearly has an agenda when he calls Ward's second victory over Kovalev "a brutal knockout".
I think Mayweather has the best resume despite similar inactivity because he beat Mosley and Cotto before Canelo and then beat Canelo himself and Pacquiao, but his last fight against a professional boxer was in 2015. Half a decade's work won't get it done especially when we learned last decade that the writers put a lot of merit in how you finish the decade.
IMO if Canelo beats Jacobs and Golovkin/Andrade in 2019, he will undoubtedly be named FOTD based off his name and activity in addition to his accomplishments. And that means Mayweather will have clear Ws over the last two FOTDs. So much for not fighting anyone.Comment

It has to be Floyd. he really retired in 2015 from real competition. but from 2010-2015 nobody in boxing even comes close. these fighters are not active enough to even debate this. you can put asterisks wherever u like but Floyd stands alone as FOTD. easy.Comment
