It's going to come down to who had the best wins and I think that's Ward.

Mayweather's best wins came over Canelo and Pac. But Canelo was 23 years old, and Pac was 36 and had lost a couple fights during the decade prior to facing Floyd so the significance of the fight wasn't great, plus it was a terrible fight. Outside of those two he did fight Mosley and Cotto, but they were aging opponents as well. He didn't have a signature win against a top fighter.

Ward won the Super Six and beat Froch and Kovalev. I would argue those are more impressive wins considering how on top of their game both of those fighters were. He also did it in two different weight classes.

Mayweather effectively retired in 2015, only has 6 fights, so it's hard to view him as fighter of the decade.

Klitschko has 3 good wins over Haye, Povetkin and Pulev but also two significant losses.


For me it's between the other three, Canelo, Golovkin & Ward

GGG and Canelo have given us nearly 20 fights each, Ward just 9 and some of those weren't great (Brand, Smith Jr. and a consensus loss to Kovalev where he was dropped).

It's GGG or Canelo imo, Canelo favorite, but maybe the trilogy in September settles matters.

How can someone whose ducked every hard fight in his career be considered for FOTD? Gennadyovish ****** ducked Canelo and Cotto at 155 (Middleweight weights), Lara at 160, Ward at 168 (after calling Ward out at 168 and offering to fight Froch and JCC at 168), Sergei Dervenchenko, Jermall Charlo (who is a bum), Billy Joe Saunders, and Demetrius Andrade. Oh and GGG's best win should've been an automatic and immediate rematch - but GGG shit the bed on that one too.

If your crowning achievement was a draw against Canelo Alvarez on his first fight at MW before getting smacked up...you need to get more done. Period.

When you add all Pac s wins together as a whole, including the fights he was robbed in, it equates to a better decade than floyds.
