Tyson Fury had no intention of fighting Wilder next.

    To avoid any Joshua conversations?

I posted on here a few times asking why everyone figured Joshua and Wilder were ducking, yet no-one ever questioned Fury.

Then Joshua announces... Fury goes on about how many times he's decked his opponent before announcing his own deal.

Why should Fury be the B side again? He beat Wilder in the first fight despite Deontay having all the advantages.

Fair play to Tyson for securing his future.

My point is for as long as Fury's known about this ESPN deal (a while) he's known Wilder isn't next.

So to take us all for mugs for weeks is annoying.

Maybe I'm just annoyed because I wanted to travel and go. I feel like I've been waiting months for no reason.
Tyson isn't a promoter, he obviously wasn't allowed to talk about the ESPN deal, and tbh I've not heard Tyson say much about the Wilder fight since the new year.

Fury will fight whoever his promoter puts in front of him. As a fellow Fury fan though, i will be disappointed if he starts fighting bums and avoiding the big fights.

This was definitely an interesting turn of events that surprised me. But I think too many people responding too emotionally about this. Ultimately this is a business for fighters as well as a sport. And its foolish & short sighted not to look at your full scope of options.

So with that in mind I highly doubt the Wilder rematch negotiations were done in bad faith with no intention of making a deal. I do think they failed to get the offer they wanted. And that more than likely led to pulling the trigger on a deal with TR which they had to been in talks with pre- or during the Wilder talks.

Alls fair in love, war & fight negotiations I say.

And it still could be interesting now to see this purse bid situation, which I admittedly said wouldn't happen lol, shake out. You could potentially have a PBC promoter (Brown or DiBella I'd guess), Eddie & Bob all bidding on this fight to show it on Showtime PPV, DAZN or ESPN PPV.

Very confused by the "disappointed" fans.

It was a clear Fury win to the naked eye. He very well couldve been given 10 rounds. T E N.

Why would Fury - who holds all the chips - feels he needs to make ANY concession for Wilder?

Yeah I can't blame Tyson at all for taking the deal. It's a no brainer. Massive deal.

And of course I have no doubt Tyson will fight any man walking the planet.

My issue is pretending Wilder's a done deal when it has next to no chance of happening next. As sad as it sounds fans like me put their lives on hold for this shit, it's not fair on the fans at all to do that.

Whilst I agree it was predominatly Frank Warren saying it on record to the media. Tyson did say it numerous times, that a Wilder announcement is imminent when really it was never even in play from the start of the year if I had to guess.

By most accounts Fury won the first fight, so if he doesn't feel like he needs to rematch Wilder then that's fair enough in my eyes. But why string the fans along as if the rematch is happening next? All we've heard from Warren and Fury for months is the Wilder rematch is happening next and an announcement is imminent. Clearly that was never the case.

Fury made some comments about a month ago that alarmed me, something along the lines of "Even if it's not Wilder next I'll be out in May" I raised my eyebrow at it but thought nothing of it. It makes sense why he said that now.

Bob Arum's comments in the media and high praise of Fury make sense now also.

Warren tried to say at the Presser that this deal has come about in the last week. Yeah.....right. Somehow I doubt that.

Strung the fans along for months now when they had no intention of a rematch. Atleast not next anyway.

Poor from Fury and Warren. Alot of UK fans like myself who were planning on traveling have had things on hold all this time for no reason.
Spot on! I couldn't have agreed with you more. The fight is now dead as we know it because Bob Arum and Frank Warren have unofficially pulled out of the purse bid.

They want the fight strictly on their own terms and conditions. It's because they feel they have the upper hand and more leverage at the bargaining table than Team Wilder does at the moment.

In addition, Bob Arum wants to be the lead promoter; Which is something Deontay Wilder would be very reluctant into doing because after all he is still technically the A side fighter after giving Tyson Fury a voluntary charitable defense which he did not earn.

                  Bingo. Nailed it.

                  Fury should give ZERO concessions.

On many scorecards Fury won T E N rounds.

Wilders best scorecard was a draw while his worst was a lopsided 10-2 loss.

Fury owes Wilder nothing especially after that glaringly obvious corrupt scorecard.

Fury is the A side and will take the deal that best treats him like the A side. If wilder wants to avenge his loss he needs to accept the B side.

Team Fury already pulled out the purse bid I believe.

I'd blame Warren more than Tyson tbh, but i do feel your pain mate. You gonna try and get AJ tickets now? Hope you get sorted.
