Tyson Fury had no intention of fighting Wilder next.

Tyson Fury is probably my favourite active fighter but I'm disappointed with how he's gone about these rematch talks.

By most accounts Fury won the first fight, so if he doesn't feel like he needs to rematch Wilder then that's fair enough in my eyes. But why string the fans along as if the rematch is happening next? All we've heard from Warren and Fury for months is the Wilder rematch is happening next and an announcement is imminent. Clearly that was never the case.

Fury made some comments about a month ago that alarmed me, something along the lines of "Even if it's not Wilder next I'll be out in May" I raised my eyebrow at it but thought nothing of it. It makes sense why he said that now.

Bob Arum's comments in the media and high praise of Fury make sense now also.

Warren tried to say at the Presser that this deal has come about in the last week. Yeah.....right. Somehow I doubt that.

Strung the fans along for months now when they had no intention of a rematch. Atleast not next anyway.

Poor from Fury and Warren. Alot of UK fans like myself who were planning on traveling have had things on hold all this time for no reason.

He won the fight and was robbed. He has every right to tell them to f.uck off.

I don't know if I would say he had no intentions of fighting Wilder next. But obviously they kept this secret from the negotiations with Team Wilder. Doesn't mean the fight doesn't happen, just that Fury wanted to secure a big US deal for himself.

But more importantly, this makes the Joshua fight even harder to make. Forget the BT Sports vs Sky Sports angle, now you have that along with ESPN vs DAZN.

Intrigued in seeing how this all unfolds.

I thought Fury was going to fight Wilder. But as has been said, everyone thougth Fury won, until proven otherwise, so its like Pac v horn.
Pac dont feel need to rematch horn as everyone thinks he won.
It serves wilder right for pretending to think he beat Fury. If Wilder admitted losing and pleading to fury for chance to win next fight then Wilder might deserve remach.

I’m a fan of Fury but with him doing this it to me he showed he wasn’t confident that he’d win the rematch. But is viewed by most of deserving the win in the first fight he doesnt want to risk what happend in the 12th happen again, still be having nightmares of the 12th round

Because if he believed he’d take the rematch no problem he have taken the fight along with Wilders strap and leave only with 2 names remaining as whos the best at HW

              I agree with you.

But don't pretend like you are doing the rematch and stringing us all along.

              That's not cool.

pac didnt get dropped twice and barely survive

this is a hot rematch the public actually wants....stop making excuses(theres still a shot they make it sooner rather than later though so i wont blame tyson unless the fight doesnt come off this year)

a bunch of people swear ggg won the first canelo fight and they still made the rematch

youre trying to make excuses for this already...it wont work....the public wants this rematch

claiming to be "robbed" isnt an excuse to back out of a hot rematch the PUBLIC WANTS

ggg and canelo didnt do it despite that first decision being highly contested by the public...same with ward/kovalev.....

the public is hot for this rematch...theres no excuses not do it unless fury is shook and looking to secure some cheap paydays first against guys like jennings and pulev

                    Perhaps early days.

But I'd say for atleast a month + he's known Wilder ain't happening.

I just watched Warren's interview on Boxing Social and he said "Fury wants to be out end of April or early May and that's what we'll do"

Exactly what Fury said at the start of the year "with or without Wilder"

It's clear as day to me. They've known for a long time.

And also to act like signing with BOB ARUM isn't a massive roadblock for a fight with an Al Haymon fighter is also just insulting our intelligence beyond belief.
