The boxing media obviously know more about who won than the 60+ fighters and trainers like Duran that thought Canelo won.

Canelo is the pound for pound king, the best resume, the highest degree of difficulty, he is the best fighter out there.
His resume, and his glory could go beyond Chavez at this rate.
If his own countrymen are not proud of him, that's pathetic, and sad.

He's respected and liked, but not as much as past Mexican champions. Probably because they've produced so many champions and had such success in the sport that they take him for granted. If he was British he'd be knighted.
