I doubt that. If anything he'd be more reviled. Mexicans worship Spaniards more than their indigenous population. Even though Mexicans are majority Mestizos, half indigenous half white, they'll side with their white side. If you watch telenovela, or listen to their music, literally all the big entertainers are White(Spanish), those that look like Canelo not those that look like Erik Morales.

There's a few reasons they haven't embraced him.His catch weights and drained opponents coming up and too many questionable decisions. Americans haven't embraced him either because he hasn't embraced them. Not one word of English? He wants to be idolized but doesn't care enough to be warm to American fans. GGG and Loma are both talking pretty good English they understand where their $$$ come from. Canelo just don't give a f**k

With all due respect, Jacobs did a hell of a fight but to say that he did better than Canelo in the second fight I think is not crediting the fact that not only Canelo not touched the canvas as Jacobs did but he pushed GGG back over the 12 rounds something that not even Jacobs could do and I'm almost sure that GGG felt more damage from this second fight with Alvarez than Jacobs.

Like I said due respect to Danny because he is a hell of a fighter but let's not kid ourselves and talk nonsense.

Canelo beat GGG at his own game.
