It should be a neutral location. There's too much at stake for anyone to have home field advantage. The winner will be king of the division . In reality the winner could possibly top Canelo as the face of boxing. This is the heavyweight division . Deontay needs to get a Promoter. I keep saying this. Nobody knows him outside the boxing community here in America.

What specifically could they have done? What type of additional investment?Nope am being perfectly fair, his team didn’t do enough for him. If they did he would be the man in the HW division, this wasn’t the hand he was dealt with, he had better selling points than most HW. And his team didn’t invest enough in him, if he had other managers/promoters I bet you he would have been the man after 10 years as a pro.Comment

Putting his name out there, once he won the WBC title i think they could have done better with him, he speaks the language, he punches like a mule, he is tall and can talk trash. He is a promoters dream, they had chances to buy that Martin belt, Parker belt in his career time.
Its only NOW that they are moving him commercially, if he was from Bulgaria then i could have excuse his team, but he is American. If people think his team have done the best they could for him in 10 years as a pro then they are kidding themselves.
Maybe his team didn't believe in him...MaybeComment

Thats a great idea, but where would be neutral enough for them to make good money from the fight? And the sad bit is not a lot of people know who he is in america. It should be a neutral location. My american brother who doesn't follow boxing knew who Anthony Joshua was, but he doesn't know who Wilder is, I know not a lot happens in arizona but i was surprised when i asked him randomly. And his answer was who was that.Comment

There's this Fury guy I've heard is coming back, so there will be options for both - but Fury Vs AJ makes plenty more than Fury Vs Wilder. As much as it hurts to admit it, Hearn is right. However once Povetkin fight is over neither really has any options that would generate big money. Except maybe Dillian Whyte vs Wilder. Dillian Vs Joshua 2 won't happen unless Whyte has a belt.
So in conclusion, the only real threat or money making opportunity for both is to fight each other. There isn't really another name ready in the next year or two that they can justify to their own pockets or their fans.
Wilder needs to get his finger out his hoop and realize he's the B side and sign the fight in the UK, get paid and if he wins get paid again in a Vegas rematch. Someone speak some sense into the lad.
BTW, we've got a very good, future world champion coming up in Daniel Dubois.
Dillian Whyte is better than any American heavy right now, including windmill.Comment

As a boxing fan and as a fan of Wilder, Hearn is right. Wilders financial future (win or lose) is much rosier if he reconciles himself to fighting in the UK. It appears that the purse split, etc. is agreeable to him.
AJ and Hearn need to make this their next fight instead of Povetkin. Povetkin could upset Joshua and this would upset the apple cart.Comment

Wilder (40-0), who is from Tuscaloosa, Ala., has never had a fight outside the United States
yea I stopped reading there.....
how you gonna be a writer and make that kind of an error when he clearly fought in the uk vs harrison?Comment

Wilder is not stiff and robotic like Klitchko but very quick and athletic coupled with a dynamite punch. Fury could not dance circles around Wilder as he did against Klitchko but would have to at some point trade punches. This is when the fight would end and in dramatic fashion.I doubt he would want to face Fury first (Not saying he doesn’t want to at all). That is a fight he could lose depending on which Fury we see next, and even if Fury is back to his glory he would prefer a Joshua showdown to Wilder. Money talks, even Parker would prefer another Joshua payday than a Wilder fight.
Wilder should have priced that belt off Parker with any amount. His team really didn’t do too well for his career until Joshua’s name came up, Joshua link to Wilder in the last 13 months has done more for Wilder’s career than anything his team has done for him.
It is a shame really, you have a guy that speaks English, HW, power, talks trash and you wait until he was 32 before doing anything with him!!! They should be ashamed off themselves.Comment
