In the beginning of a fighter's career a lot of work has to be done and the money isn't usually very good. Golovkin has already done that work.

Tom clearly didn't give a figure for how much they were willing to take. He is also only talking about it after the fact when no deal was possible. So who knows how much they actually demanded.

He said he was willing to take the fight on short money, just like Vanes. He didn't say he wanted to much money or priced himself out. Sounds like GGG priced himself out because Tom said GGG needed more money to take the fight

Postponing the date jeapordizes the Canelo rematch. That is still the end goal here guys. Alaverez in mid September. You try and push the fight back to June and that jeapordizes the fight that people actually WANT to see, which is Canelo. And for what ? So he can fight a mandatory nobody cares about ? What your guys are saying really makes no sense at all. The ONLY smart thing to do here is to fight a chump on May 5, stay active, guarantee a win, and move on to a he big fight in September. Anyone who thinks GGG should jeapordize that for a mandatory with 15 pro fights, and fighting him in 1 months notice is an idiot. What if GGG loses? Gets hurt ? It could happen. We are talking about a guy who has 3 of the 4 major belts, and has called out numerous world champs in his division. Calling GGG a duck is insane. I don’t even think he’s a hypocrite to be honest. He isn’t holding up “ the fight people want to see”. He’s actually protecting it. PEOPLE WANT TO SEE THE CANELO REMATCH! The moves by Team Golovkin are the right ones. And I promise you I am not a Golovkin fan.

There is no Canelo fight this September. Canelo is will be coming off a year off and knee surgery. He's taking a tune up. That BS about a Canelo rematch in Sept is being used to justify this BS fight. And if the IBF gives him an exemption they're going to make Sergiy his immediate mandatory so he's gonna have to fight him or drop the belt.

I couldn’t careless if they were factored or not. Am pointing to the hypocrisy with team GGG and the media who back in those days would accuse anyone who wouldn’t fight GGG in the same situation.

It was more than 4 weeks. As soon as the NSAC gave Canelo that temp suspension on March 24th the fight was over. Tom knew that at the time. A simple reading of the NSAC rules showed that it doesn't matter how the PED got into your system you are responsible and will be suspended. The only thing up for debate was how long the suspension would be. This short notice excuse is just more BS

5.B. All Other Weight Divisions

1. Mandatory Defense Obligation
Each Champion so recognized by the IBF in his respective weight class from Mini Flyweight to Cruiserweight shall mandatorily defend his Championship within nine (9) months after its acquisition by him in a contest scheduled for twelve (12) rounds against a leading available contender as designated by the Championships Chairman.

Once this initial mandatory defense obligation has been satisfied, the Champion shall defend his championship within intervals of no more than nine (9) months against the leading available contender in his weight class as designated by
the Championships Chairman

5.H. Unsanctioned contests

An unsanctioned contest is a fight which the IBF has not formally approved for sanction or where sanction has been formally withdrawn. If a Champion participates in an unsanctioned contest within his prescribed weight limit, the title will be declared vacant whether the Champion wins or loses the bout. The Championships Committee, with the approval of the President, will then establish a new Champion in that division in
accordance with the procedures established and prescribed in these rules
