  • Comments Thread For: Golovkin Promoter on Derevyanchenko: GGG Needs Proper Pay

Tom Loeffler, promoter for IBF, IBO, WBA, WBC middleweight world champion Gennady Golovkin (37-0-1, 33 KOs), believes a fight with mandatory challenger Sergiy Derevyanchenko needed far more than three weeks of promotions - and GGG also needed a lot more money. The camp of Derevyanchenko were pushing hard to face Golovkin on May 5th at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

“If it’s a mandatory, you need to promote that fight properly, you can’t promote it on three weeks’ notice,” Loeffler said to The Press Telegram.

Even if Derenyanchenko was willing to take short money, why should Triple G be short-changed for a mandatory situation?”

uuhhh??? I thought GGG wasn't about da "Buisness" side???

He’s right. Everyone mad at GGG for fighting vanes but if Canelo hadn’t been caught trying to cheat (I don’t believe the contaminated meat crap) there wouldn’t be no issue till this day.

Loeffler is Right on this one, it’s Canelos fault and people should blame him instead of anyone on GGG team. They are trying to make the best out of a bad situation that Canelo put them on

Like beating your wife or girlfriend and blaming her, when you get arrested. Sure, makes sense. Please...STFU trailer park boy.

Why can't we deport this wanna-be garglekin? He is a disgrace to the sport of boxing and to the U.S. for allowing him to make a mockery of men here.

This freaking scared lil bum, is scared of a TOMATO CAN. There are at least 6, and possibly 20 or more middleweights that are better. And g is still running scared of this caller with a dozen pro fights! This would be like Spence refusing to fight Ocampo. Nah, can't do that, I need paid good money for any mandatory tougher than Wade.

It's crazy that HBO had an opportunity to make a GGG action fight on regular HBO at this point, but wasnt willing to pay more than 1 mil. A few years ago they paid 2 mil for Ward-Edwin Rodriguez, but they wont pay that much for GGG-Dereyvanchenko, a fight between two of the best action style fighters in the sport?

I'm 1000% sure had the mandatory been Wade the fight would've been made in three weeks.

You're either Mr. All the belts or bidnessman. Which one are you? the IBF needs to strip him. Other fighters wanna eat too. It's not fair to make Derev or Andrade wait another year just because GGG is lost inside Canelo's rectum.

Derev ~vs~ Andrade for the vacant strap.

Yes it's Canelo's fault the fight is cancelled. It is NOT Canelo's fault you picked a retired JMW as replacement. Cut that sht out.

its true because he knows that they can negotiate more money for a dereychenko fight or at worse go to purse bid and still make more than they will against vanes. only ****** people who don't understand the business side of boxing would expect him to fight derey for less than its worth.
