Is Adrien Broner the modern day James Toney?

James Toney was elite and considered by many as an all time great. He did lose fights he should have won by being out of shape but he was in shape for other fights and has some great wins to his credit. Broner has no great wins and every time he stepped up in class he got his ass kicked. He can't be compared with Toney because he isn't good enough even in shape on his best day. Toney's skills were amazing and his chin was iron. He should never have fought above 175 but he has an eating habit that turned him into a short and very fat heavyweight. Even as a grossly overweight heavyweight he was good enough to stop Hollyfield and beat some other good heavyweights until his old age caught up with him. Broner keeps going down hill even at his young age. He might end up in jail before he is ever a world champion again.Comment

Toney was a superior boxer all around. Better defense, counter puncher and finisher. Much better fighter on the inside. His wins over Nunn, Reggie Johnson, McCallum, Barkley and Jirov were better than anything Broner has ever accomplished.Comment

James Toney's losses hinder him from being considered among the ATG's of his era. But this is a insulting comparison. Toney's best wins are pretty ****ing impressive. Michael Nunn, Vasily Jirov, Mike McCallum, Prince Charles Williams and he had a decent run at HW. Just stop.Comment

James Toney was 1 dimensional? James Toney lacked ring iq? James Toney had bad footwork?
Bro do u even know what boxing is? In terms of skill James Toney is one of the greatest middleweights and boxers of all time.
Freddie Roach said he’s the most skillful fighter he ever trained.
He could box, he could brawl, he could fight on the inside or the outside... he had speed, power, tremendous heart, an iron chin...
Calling Toney 1 dimensional is like calling Lomachenko 1 dimensional... doesn’t make sense.Comment
