How can one of the best defensive boxers of all time be out of prime at 42 fights while being top 2/3 P4P? Look at all the greatest defensive fighters ever, they go beyond 42 fights. This isn't hard to see. I have followed Whitaker's career a lot too, he fell in love with that Oscar money. Oscar did duck the rematch, it's one of the few fights that Oscar ducked. I'm being fair and unbiased here unlike you.

Ward still got outboxed by Kovalev most of the rounds though. Oscar didn't had to rely on low blows to weaken someone and knock them out.

Because of his history at that point. As far being the best he want even the best welterweight at the time in my opinion.

Oscar, Quartey, and Trinidad were much younger and far more dangerous.

Whitaker didn't look himself against Hurtado because he was being the one pressing the action. If you've seen Whitaker's fights before that, majority of the times, he fought completely different.

You give credit to Floyd for beating Cotto & Pacquiao even though they weren't at their best. Double standard much? Both Cotto and Pacquiao have gotten knocked out before facing Floyd, did Whitaker prior to DLH? Nope!!

Quartey and Trinidad were much younger and far more dangerous AND Oscar fought them.

why do you **** on Floyds Mosley win then? and who really won since you love to play that game aswell

Whitaker landed 232 of 582 punches to 191 of 556 for De La Hoya. Of Whitaker's punches that connected, 160 were jabs to 45 for De La Hoya.

According to a Las Vegas Review-Journal poll of writers who covered the fight, 14 scored it for Whitaker, 11 for De La Hoya, and one scored it a draw.

Mosley was inactive for over a year. He only got put on the P4P list because he beat Margarito and shouldn't of been there when he fought Floyd due to that inactivity.

Yes, I am also aware that Oscar fought Quartey after a long layoff too. That's why I don't treat it as the greatest thing ever unlike you dudes with Floyd.

Do you really want to go there with being robbed? Seriously, if you do, it will just show that you just want your cake and eat it too without being fair.

I am no Ward fan but he is very good for right now and for all time. He has fought many of the best `168 and 175 pound boxers and he is undefeated. I don't think many boxers his weight from the past could beat him. I think he would be a hard fight for anyone his weight past or present. I just don't like his wrestling, clinching, holding and hitting, mauling style. He always wins though. He is very skillful but he bends the rules a lot.

My boxing IQ is higher than what you think. Ask anyone that pays attention to boxing and isn't biased towards a particular group can see that if you have to rely on clinching, your skills aren't as advertised.
Ward uses his to operate on the inside where as others use it to avoid infighting, that's a skill right there. It allows him to fight at his own pace, had Oscar acquired that skill he wouldn't have had to run against Trinidad.
