My take on this anyway is neither fighter REALLY wanted it

      Not due to fear

Cmon did this fight really make much sense
      It's a good fight
      Not a great fight

      Golovkin is good but
      Wards too big for him
      Arkward too

Ward never showed any desperation for fights, much less a Golovkin fight. He just added fuel to this GGG-ducking narrative perpetuated by GGG detractors to boost his ego. He was never interested due to weight problems.

Again, what is the answer to my previous question? Where was Ward before the Monroe fight and right after it?

These GGG detractors always make it appear GGG was ducking Ward for years, when in reality it was Ward who said no to the fight when offered by HBO.

Ward offered him a fight 2 times, in late 2014 and late 2015. Both times it was rejected, and they wouldn't even negotiate with him. He offered 50-50 both times and it was rejected straight away. Can't defend it really, when he said he would take the fight. Ward went up and fought a bigger stronger Kovalev.

Ward too big? He was only 8lbs heavier. It's okay for all these JMW's to come up and fight Gennady, why can't he go up a weight division? Never seen fans make as many excuses for a fighter as i've seen in this thread. All the greats moved up multiple weight classes and took risks yet fans would rather see this guy stay in a weak division so he can have easy fights? The Canelo fight isn't an easy fight, but he had a chance to become p4p#1 with a win over Ward and wouldn't even consider it. Yet he's the most scary, exciting guy in boxing, yeah sure

Doesn't matter to me if he reaches 50-0, until he beats some elite fighters I can't put him up there with the greatest MW's of all time. Just can't do it.

Why not? Because it is a sure loss?

LOL @ all the GGG fans getting business savvy in this thread

If he wanted to stay at MW I don't have a problem with it, but he said he would go up and didn't, so I don't want to see any of you guys calling out other fighters for not moving up. Which happens all the time. "Canelo needs to go to Middleweight and test himself". Roman Gonzalez went up 3 divisions. Let's just let guys like Terence Crawford stay at 140 then and never move up and fight the top welterweights and just take "money fights" instead right?

Those lies were already debunked by none other than Ward himself when asked why he didn't make earlier offers prior to the one he made when GGG was already deep into promoting the Lemieux fight. Ward lied he did but backtracked when pressed to provide evidence.

Golovkin has no chance against Ward. He'll be KOed within 8.
I like this fight so his nauseating hype can stop once and for all.
