Got any proof? He said recently that he offered the fight in late 2014 and it got rejected? I've seen article about the offer around the time of the Lemieux fight but that's not the only offer. He made one in late 2014. He made the offer before the Lemieux fight when GGG already had a fight, okay, but if they really wanted it they could've continued negotiating and made it the fight after instead.

I like this fight so his nauseating hype can stop once and for all.
Well it wouldnt really be fair, just like i wouldnt shame ward for losing to a heavyweight or cruiserweight. Dont think Ward would knock out GGG but win by decision ? Definitely

I like to see Ward test that body consistently and brutally as long as it lasts. Anyway, I don't think Golovkin's team would ever consider that fight.

What about your proof? Where are those earlier offers you are talking about?
He was pressed why he didn't make earlier offers. He lied and made a mistake of mentioning some specific date. Fans and the media fact checked and the date didn't tally with GGG's fight schedules on and off the ring. He never mentioned it again.

Why don't you ask him when those so-called offers were made?

Why didn't you mention the one offered by HBO in which Ward said no?

Golovkin: "Hey Ward, wake up. Why are you talking trash about others? Speak for yourself. If you are trying to make a name for yourself by mentioning my name and building your fight by talking about me, then be a man and tell the truth," Golovkin told BoxingScene.com/Allboxing.ru.

"At our meeting with HBO they asked both of us whether or not we are ready to fight. You remember our answers........I said 'yes' and you said 'no.' Something about your shoulder or promoter. I am not interested in your reasons, I only heard your 'no.' But you remember HBO made it clear back then that this fight needs a lot of time to build up. Then why are you talking **** about excuses?"

By Rick Reeno is a week away from his scheduled return. Ward, who's been out of the ring since November 2013, During Ward's period of inactivity, his name was consistently linked to several potential fights. One of those potential fights would come against WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (33-0, 30KOs). In an interview conducted last year, Golovkin's trainer Abel Sanchez said his boxer was willing to fight any notable name from junior middleweight to super middleweight. In a direct response to that interview, Ward raised his hand and said he was ready to fight Golovkin. At that time, Golovkin's handlers had legitimate concerns because Ward had an ongoing legal battle with his former promoter. That legal issue has long been resolved. During several recent interviews with Golovkin and members of his team, Ward's name has once again been raised for a potential fight. Golovkin's promoter, Tom Loeffler of K2, is receptive to the idea of fighting Ward but believes they need additional time to build it up into a pay-per-view attraction. Ward does not agree with Loeffler's response and views it as another excuse to avoid the fight - noting that Golovkin has attempted to face two different super middleweights, Carl Froch and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., in the last twelve months. Both Chavez and Froch are physically bigger than Ward.

Again, what is the answer to my previous question? Where was Ward before the Monroe fight and right after it?

These GGG detractors always make it appear GGG was ducking Ward for years, when in reality it was Ward who said no to the fight when offered by HBO.
Desperation was too strong a word but Ward had lost a lot of relevancy after his hiatus. Throwing GGG's name out there was IMO to say hey I'm still out here. Also, some believe it was to throw cover for Cotto. Not sure about that one. I don't think Ward was ever serious about the fight.

All that said I'm not claiming anyone ducked anyone.

LOL that's basically Golovkin trying to make himself look good. He's referring to a HBO meeting where they were asked if they were ready to fight. If Ward's shoulder was injured at that point, or he was dealing with promotional issues which prevent you from fighting anyone, of course he wouldn't have been ready. Since he says nothing about when this meeting happened there's no proof of if Ward was injured or not at the time, and nowhere in there does he even mention making an offer to Ward. He actually says "HBO wants the fight to build" which sounds like an excuse. He never made Ward an offer, and whenever he gets asked about him he responds with "I don't want to talk about him". Imagine if Ward said that, LOL

Bottom line - Ward offered him a fight twice and he rejected it both times. After saying he would take the fight, that's ducking however you look at it.

I'm actually tired of this thread at this point. All the relevant points have been made, and all the issues have been debated. All the facts are out there, and i've come to the conclusion that he gets a pass because he has fans, a trainer, a network and a promoter who get behind him like crazy, highlight all the positives and hide all the negatives He's a very good fighter, knocks a lot of people out, but don't put him as p4p#2 and say he's one of the best MW's ever until he beats someone who's on the elite level and who's either the same size or bigger.

You need to provide evidence for these blatant lies bro. There were no such offers other than the fake one. Give us exact dates when those offers were made. It's not hard to fact check them.
