I dunno, man. The hype is huge. The hype is on some Mayweather/Pacquiao level type ****. This **** is being talked about EVERYWHERE. The promotion on this just from all the water cooler talk on it alone...I really don't see any way it doesn't do huge numbers. Hell every workplace break room in America was probably talking about this **** the day after it got announced. You got dumb asses like my sister and her boyfriend who haven't watched a fight in their entire lives who are talking about this **** and already setting plans for a watch party.Comment

You make good points but the way I see it is EVERYONE was in support of Mayweather-Pacquaio. The hardcores, the casuals, literally every soul on the planet.McGregor is bringing his 1.5M PPV buys from the UFC.
If you're a Mayweather hater, you'll pretend Mayweather is only bringing 500K, but he's bringing his 1.5M PPV buys as well.
That's 2-3M right there.
Plus youre gonna get about 1-2M from the non-combat sports audience that will be ****** in by the spectacle.
So thats 3-5M.
Now exactly where it lands between those two numbers depends on how many boycott the fight because of the farce that Mayweather-Pacquiao turned out to be and how many others boycott over some of the negative press from the perceived mismatch of this fight.
I predicted we'll see closer to 5M than 3M. JMO.
This one is different, ita definitely a huge fight and got major buzz, but theres a long list of people who aren't in support of it.
I just can't see it beating Mayweather-Pacquaio. It has missing ingredients.Last edited by IronDanHamza; 06-17-2017, 12:38 AM.Comment

I mostly agree. What this fight has though is a level of mystery. I think the people that bought Mayweather-Pacquiao knew they were gonna buy it when the fight was announced. This fight IMO will be more of a perfect storm where more people get ****** in as the fight draws near and the mainstream media hype kicks into full gear. You make good points but the way I see it is EVERYONE was in support of Mayweather-Pacquaio. One thing you can't underestimate is the importance of a good press conference. And IMO this **** is gonna pop off after the first press conference. We have two off the better trash talkers in recent memory face to face. I personally can't wait.Comment

Yeah definitely agree with that. The build up will sell a lot of PPV's because people love hype and people love a rivalry. So he casuals are sold already and that's where big numbers will come.I mostly agree. What this fight has though is a level of mystery. I think it's the hardcore audience that won't bring numbers in. That's where I think Mayweather-Pacquaio has it beat.
But McGregor will build this massively. Hopefully Floyd has some comebacks prepared because you know McGregor is going to attack him savagley and I will say this he's a witty ****er
Alot more so than Floyd.
I'm excited myself if I'm honest. It's a freak show but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't going to watch it.Comment

It'll still depend on casual fans...the ufc die hards are dwindling same as boxing. Only ppvs that pull in the casuals sell well...which I'm sure this will, and I'm also sure it will leave a lot of people disappointed.Comment

Haha I can definitely see Mayweather stumbling all over his words. When hes nervous or pressured his stuttering really comes out. Could easily turn into a meme.Yeah definitely agree with that.
