Chavez still brings money, but I don't see him getting 35%. That's ridiculous. 75-25 or even 80-20 sound about right. Canelo needs Chavez to make more money than he's been getting recently, but this is one of only two fights that makes Chavez good money - this or Golovkin.Comment

If Chavez jr. says Canelo wants five times what he would get, it means the current offer is 80-20.
So he should push for 70-30 of everything. That sounds fair. 80-20 is not so far from 70-30.
But IMO this fight doesn't make much sense now. Chavez Jr. has been exposed as a bum a few times now. If Canelo wins he will prove nothing at all.
Canelo should be fighting the likes of Sounders or Lemieux. He should start the year fighting real middleweights in preparation for Golovkin.Comment
