You're right. Roach was not forced. But the ridiculousness of asking your trainer to come to your living room to train you for the biggest fight in your career is insane to me. . Lost all respect for Chavez after that.

I've seen the Canelo apologists and GGG haters twisted view on this before. They say that Canelo is in a better position now because GGG can't force a purse bid and get 45%, or whatever, of the purse.

But GGG and Loeffler would never have tried to force a purse bid. That would have been a dumb thing to do, and they aren't that ******.

All Oscar had to do was make GGG a reasonable offer .. $15 million and 160 would have been more than reasonable .. and If GGG, as the challenger, had turned it down and insisted on a purse bid, nobody would have shit on Canelo for vacating in those circumstances. I wouldn't, for sure.

If you're honest you will admit that the reason Canelo vacated had nothing to with getting himself a stronger position to bargain. His position is much weaker now than it was before. The $15 million at 160 offer proves that conclusively.

Canelo vacated because he, or his team, don't want to fight GGG till he's over the hill.

If me calling you a lil girl was offensive, then I apologize. it does get old that you keep saying Canelo handed the belt over to ggg because he ducked though. That is not true. And Canelo at this point has tried to make the fight with ggg more than ggg himself even as the a side. I like ggg but I've lost a lot of respect for his management team, and ggg has a lot to do with what decisions are made or at least he should have some say. Canelo took on Lara after nobody wanted that fight! Ggg can learn something and test himself... The fact that Jacobs is his best opponent at age 35 is lame af!

There is no contract. Oscar and Loeffler are negotiating to fight in Sept and Oscar is spinning it to try and appease Canelo's fans who are pissed off with him for vacating the WBC belt instead of defending it against GGG.

Golovkin was ready and willing to fight Canelo as soon as he won the WBC title from Cotto, but Canelo asked for a voluntary defence first then handed over his title without even trying to negotiate or making any offers at all.

Then Oscar came out and said he won't fight GGG till Sept 2017 at the earliest.

With no unification against Canelo happening, GGG had to fight Danny Jacobs next, which is what he's doing.

Canelo talkin like an alpha but acting like a beta

Goes from "mexicans dont f around" to liam smith and a drained chavez who lost via ko to fonfara a couple fights ago. Chavez is gonna get beat up this fight.

The egos of Canelo and Jr are not the only over inflated egos at play here. DLH and Chavez Sr and their egos go way back to the 90's and there was no love lost between the two. If the fight gets made expect to the marketing and build up to be just as much about DLH/Sr as it is about Canelo/Jr.

Right now Canelo's throwing Jr a bone by even offering the fight, and Jr is just whining and begging, trying to get Canelo to give him just a little bit bigger bone. Truth is Chavez isn't worth more than 6 million, and it will be interesting to see if he lets his ego get in the way of him making the biggest payday of his career..
