  • Comments Thread For: Chavez Jr. Says Canelo's Ego, Demands Making May 6 Deal Tough

Former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (49-2-1, 32KOs) is not very happy with fellow Mexican superstar Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (48-1-1, 34KOs). The two boxers are negotiating a potential catch-weight bout at 165-pounds. Canelo, who holds the WBO junior middleweight title, would move up from 154-pounds, while Chavez Jr. would come down from the super middleweight limit of 168.

Canelo should budge a little on the negotiations.

When Chavez fails to make 165 he'll just make that money back

I think it's more of Chavez Jr's ego. Dude isn't active enough to call shots.

Make the negotiations public and let the fans decide who has the ego.

Canelo having an ego? That sounds pretty farfetched.
