That doesn't change the fact that ggg would be ****** to abandon the canelo fight. Aside from what fans/haters want to see...it's the best move for his career hands down. I don't understand why there's discussion every day of ggg moving up while the canelo fight looms.
Why is it when people mention GGG moving up Hagler is brought up?

The guy didn't make 154 in 3 years, blows up 20lbs, is no longer doing same day weighin... Great stuff as usual manComment

The biggest difference between GGG and Hagler is that there were good fights for Hagler at 160 and the fight he was chasing, the biggest fight ever at that time was vs SRL.
There are really no big fight at 160 for GGG with Canelo insisting on 155 or whatever and doesn't seem keen to fight him. But let's even say that they fought and GGG won, it would be interesting then to see if GGG would stay or move up.
The biggest fights for GGG realistically are above 160 (other than Canelo).Comment

Then,I would advice you to schedule an appointment with an ophthalmologist or your grade school teacher, that clearly should have spent more individual time in the reading comprehension skills department.Comment

A legend just for beating Donaire who made hard work of WV2? He's got what, 2 top 10 scalps career wise, one of them Rico RamosFrampton, Quigg and Santa Cruz all moved up to 126 to avoid Rigo when he is the champ. Now he will go to 126 and they will fight him at this weight when he is not the champ? Rigo is the same size as Chocolatico.
Rigo has half the fights and a better resume than GGG, and he is always the smaller, older guy in the ring. Rigo is a legend, GGG hasn't proven anything yet.Comment

Canelo is bigger than all those combined. No real big fight at 168, Zurdo could get thereThe biggest difference between GGG and Hagler is that there were good fights for Hagler at 160 and the fight he was chasing, the biggest fight ever at that time was vs SRL.

That's why I'm saying if that doesn't happen or after Canelo.
Remove Canelo from the equation and there's literally no fights of interest at 160. at 168 we could get Ward, Degale, Groves, Jack, Ramirez etc. Those would all be fun as hell fights.Comment

In the pro ranks he has 3 good scalps in 17 fights and Rico Ramos ain't one of them. In the amateur ranks, just google him and you'll see why he is a legend.Comment

No one brings up Hopkins. I'm a huge fan of Hopkins but his reign at middleweight didn't not have the greatest names but his reign is largely respected within the sport. Their were big fights at SMW but decided to continue to fight for a different legacy. I enjoy GGG, I see bigger fights elsewhere than Middleweight but the fact remains that there is one big looming. Will it happen or should GGG move on?Comment
