Alvarez can stick at 154 (for the WBO), or go up to fight Billy Joe Saunders for the WBO 160 belt (with the WBO having no real interest in pushing for title consolidation) and become the pursued fighter at 160lbs (the bad blood between Haymon/Oscar may exclude some fights, but Eubank Jr (UK TV money), David Lemieux (Canadian PPV money) Willie Monroe, Tureano Johnson, Curtis Stevens, and possibly Ryota Murata (Top Rank) as fight options to make really good money with).

If the fight doesn't happen, what does Golovkin have in the cue? He has the coming Daniel Jacobs bid ... and then what?

      70/30.

Canelo just made 3m. Who else is he gonna fight that hew will make upwards of 70m.

Think k2 is gonna lay down in negotiations is silly, they know Canelo that they're winning the pr battle.
... for the fight to have the fighters share $100m, the entire event would need to do roughly $250m in PPV revenue. gtfoh

Based on what? Alvarez just fought in front of 50k people, in a fight that folks here openly talked down as being a junk fight. Golovkin had to go to open ticket gimmicks to fill up MSG (with K2 still not willing to stage the full Forum for Golovkin's fights).

It'll take the usual week or so, but Alvarez will likely end up doing 4 times the PPV business on the Liam Smith fight than what Golovkin-Lemieux did.

In what world is 65/35 remotely fair?

As long as you say yes to all of their terms. Matchroom Sport staged the fight in their main big-fight venue, the UK market derived nearly all of the revenue for the fight, and Kell Brook (one of Matchroom's main attractions) as the "late replacement".

Not only did it cost Matchroom $3m-$4m to get Golovkin over, K2 likely demanded the US/Germany rights to the fight, and Golovkin/K2 refused to give up a single pound for a welterweight fighter coming up two divisions (after Eddie Hearn asked for 157lbs).

Kell Brook got the opportunity that he'd been thirsting for, but he got took up the river to get it.

K2 offered them a fight after Khan, which was an extension Canelo requested and was granted on the premise he would fight Golovkin after Khan, and he dropped the belt and reneged on the deal and wouldn't even negotiate at all. So some time after that, after each have fights scheduled, Golden Boy talks to Tom Loeffler about a potential fight in late 2017. Tom Loeffler essentially is saying, call when your ready to fight.

Canelo vs Golovkin can't happen anytime soon since Canelo is looking for a Sept 2017 fight, so who cares? Have negotiations take place next year then. Neither are going anywhere. Golovkin has his mandatory to figure out with Jacobs and Canelo is going to adjust to 160, possibly against Saunders, after that, get to the table and work out a deal! Until then, I don't care one bit about "negotiating" through the media.
Mega fights like this can be negotiated the way the A side wants it to be negotiated. Sorry bruh lil g is getting a flat fee and thats the end of it

So there goes that theory....I agree he should take 10 million though
Liam Smith 50k+ (with over 40k+ tickets sold).

We still have no idea what the gate for Golovkin-Lemieux actually looked like (though we do know that he sold over $100k in merchandise); and nice try with that Wade number too, lol.

There's a reason why they gave up a belt and have been playing the marinating game for a year. If GBP actually WANTED to make this fight with decent terms (6m+ flat fee, 75/25 PPV split), that **** would have been made 6 months ago.
That is a completely reasonable deal right there. 6m + 25% of ppv. The fight would have been signed, and we would have just watched GGG vs Canelo instead of GGG vs Brook, and Canelo vs Smith (although I didn't watch that).
