Neither Hearn nor DeGale have ever said if the fight was offered to DeGale when Eubank screwed up. Seeming ad Hearn has a mouth on him you'd have thought he would have said something.
For DeGale there has to be more legacy unifying with Jack and they have supposedly been in negotiations for ever.
Plus if Golovkin wants to unify first its not helpful moving up and then back down - better he stays at 160 and let people come to him until he is done with 160 - which I personally think is looking likely to be never.

He's 34, he's not moving up, all the 54 guys will come up and that will be his legacy...which isn't much. And people compare this assclown to Hopkins? Gtfoh

Why do people act like Jacobs is asking for the moon? He said in an interview posted on this site that he wouldn't ask for anything absurd like 10 million or anything but he feels since it is a bigger fight he should make more than the 1.5M he made vs Quillin. That's not unreasonable at all. Maybe 2 or 2.5

I just hope Jacobs doesn't try to price himself out, and then duck it before it gets to purse bids.

He has to be realistic on what he earns for this fight. I don't know what Golovkin made v Brook but before that i'm sure his highest purse was around $3m or a bit less. If that's the case, Jacobs can't realistically get much more than $1.5m.

If 1.5 is what he is offered then he won't take the fight. He already made that fighting Kid Chocolate

I don't think 75 is too big an ask for a guy that's being talked about as a potential ATG. Hopkins made the jump at 40, while he was making 160 easily. Roy Jones started at 60, and jumped to heavyweight in his 40s. James Toney started at 60, and made ans fought at a high level at cruiserweight and heavywieght in his 30s. And many more. It can be done.

Belts and title defenses aren't what cement a legacy. Its WHO you fought. If Hopkins hasn't fought guys like DLH and Tito. And then moved up and fought guys like Tarver and Calzage. He could have had 100 title defenses and nobody would have cared. He would mostly be a guy remebered as a food fight that feasted on a bad division as a true ATG (RJ) had left it. GGG doesn't have anyone of any historical, significant relevance on his resume.

As for staying at 60 hoping to unify beltsand land a Canelo fight. How many more years do you want him to wait? Personally, I haven't seen any significant slippage in him. But honestly, it would be hard for me to tell because I've never been overly impreased by him. Either way, he's not a young guy. And age is gonna catch him eventually. So personally, I think that its time for him to start chasing some big fights. And he's gotten big enough where he doesn't necessarily need a great danxe partner to sell. All he needs are intriguing fights that may make people think he has a chance to lose. We know he's a huge favorite over anybody 160band down. He's a favorite against everyone at 68. But trying to see him conquer another division would generate a lotta interest.

He made 1.5 for Quillin, how is making more for a bigger fight not reasonable? 2 mil is reasonable considering he made 1.5 for a lesser fight. Is he supposed to take less than what his highest purse has been just because we want to see the fight? Not everyone is Kovalev and willing to take 500K

just because Haymon overpaid him for the Quillin fight, that doesnt mean that everyone else will. Jacobs also just got somewhere between $600k and $700k for the Mora fight, which was a 50% pay cut.

If this fight goes to purse bid, to get Jacobs at least $2 million, Haymon would have to bid $8 million. Do you really think thats going to happen?
