  • Comments Thread For: Golovkin's Promoter To Begin Immediate Negotiations For Jacobs

After their respective victories over this past weekend, the WBA has ordered negotiations to commence between the 'super' middleweight champion, Gennady Golovkin (36-0, 33KOs) and their 'regular' belt-holder, Daniel Jacobs (32-1, 29KOs). There is now a 30-day negotiation period instituted by the WBA with a 120-day window for this fight to take place.

Jacobs seems like a sincerely nice dude.

      But this ends badly.

I think this is a great fight, Jacobs has looked excellent lately and he seems really strong, best fight that can be made at middleweight limit atleast. After GGG's last fight I would have to say this should be a competitive fight UNLESS GGG really was sick during his last fight, if that is true then Jacobs is just another stepping stone.

Please make this next! This is the most challenging fight for GGG by far in his weight class.

            Make Jacobs for Nov/Dec.

Then Saunders for February in Monte Carlo or UK.

Then Ramirez or Degale in May or July.

            Canelo in September.

            Eubank in December.

That is if Canelo keeps ducking all the way to September. Otherwise that should be in May.

But yeah Jacobs should definitely be next. I still think Jacobs will run from the fight since all we have to judge on is the past, and that's what he's been doing. But I hope Loeffler tries to make it next.

Jacobs has real power. Something that Golovkin has yet to face in his career. He also has boxing ability. He is also 6' in height. Jacobs would be Golovkin's best opponent to date. It's a fight that should happen.

What if Jacobs was sick in the Pirog fight?

Dude had a tumor growing on his spine.
