man what are you smoking. Can you point out a single example of a non-heavyweight mandatory challenger with no fanbase getting paid over 2 million dollars??

That is not accurate. He specifically stated that a career high payday is not enough. Even double a career high payday is not enough, because GGG is so damn good, he expects to get a retirement check. My impression reading his quotes was that he is looking for 4.5-5 mil minimum, perhaps as much as 7 mil.
Jacobs is a good dude, and I hope they find a way to get him 4 mil for the fight. The problem is the #s he brings in don't really warrant that, but maybe his talent combined with GGG's talent will create a matchup that does, combined with GGG's star power, that will generate enough $ for Jacobs to get that if GGG gives him a generous split. The point is simply that we have to acknowledge that GGG is so good, Jacobs does not want to fight him for what you were talking about, which was simply a fair deal, a career high payday. Jacobs wants crazy money because he sees GGG as such a threat. Not 10 mil crazy money, sure, but still crazy money. It really seemed like he was talking about 5 mil minimum, which probably is not possible, so then what happens to the fight? Jacobs gets to just keep ducking and claim it was about the money?
No he is getting offered at least double his career high... he is not a champ... he is not undefeated not that that matters except I'll bring it up only if a fighter is making unrealistic demands... He should take as much money as he can get, but he should also take the most money that is available and make the fight since it is already going to be more than double his career high, plus it's a high opportunity. GGG is bringing three belts. He is bringing no real ones. He beats GGG, suddenly he is sitting pretty, and suddenly he is the big B-side for the Canelo superfight next year, and he's making even more money. Then he beats Canelo and he is boxing's next star, and can start pulling in 10 mil for his PPVs.
Imagine what beating GGG and Canelo would do for Jacobs career? And that opportunity all starts with accepting double your career high payday to also get a shot at 3 belts. It's a win win for Jacobs except for the fact the opportunity and money comes against GGG, which is the point.
These fighters are still so scared of GGG that even when he can offer a shot at 3 belts, and double career high money, they're still ducking him.
Remember when he started, everyone used the excuse to duck him that he had nothing to offer? They said they weren't scared of him, he just didn't offer a good payday, there wasn't a reason to fight him.
Now he offers three belts, and double career high money... they still won't fight him.
Huh. Maybe they really were just scared of him the whole damn time.

The reality is, GGG isn't being held hostage in the middleweight division because Saunders, Canelo, or anybody else won't fight him. If unification is his goal. There's no rule that says he can't look outside of the top guys in his divsion while he's waiting. And return to 60 when the opportunity presents itself. He was willing to look down two divisions for Brook. In a fight that did absolutely nothing for his legacy. He should be just as willing to look up the scale. If he plans on fighting in November. Why not try and snatch a belt at 68 if he doesn't get one of the guys he wants? He can always drop back to 60 when he's done. Win or lose.

I just hope Jacobs doesn't try to price himself out, and then duck it before it gets to purse bids.
He has to be realistic on what he earns for this fight. I don't know what Golovkin made v Brook but before that i'm sure his highest purse was around $3m or a bit less. If that's the case, Jacobs can't realistically get much more than $1.5m.
