Why do some posters hate Gennady Golovkin so much?

didnt ward say soon after that he could never make 168? Pretty sure this myth has been debunked. Way i see it, its like me saying mayweather ducked GGG because GGG said he would fight at 154 but mayweather didnt take him up on it.Comment

Golovkin said on tape he would fight Ward, Floyd never said he'd fight Golovkin. One backed out on his word.Comment

If he is a coward then every boxer fighting today is a coward. He is a middleweight and to the best of my knowledge he has always been ready, willing and able to fight any top middleweight in the world. You can't name any middleweight, not a light heavyweight, that he refused to fight for any reasonable amount of money. Cotto, Canelo, Martinez, Kid Chocolate, Jacobs, Eubank and Saunders all refused to fight him at 160 pounds. If he is a coward what does that make them? You speak only for yourself and a small but dedicated group of GGG haters when you trash him. The majority of fans and boxing experts recognize him as the best middleweight in the world and one of the top three best pound for pound fighters in the world. He didn't get that kind of respect by being a coward. He also had about 400 amateur fights and you can't pick your opponents in the amateurs. GGG isn't a coward. The men that should man up and fight him but won't do so are closer to being cowards. I believe no man who fights for a living should be called a coward. They are all brave men, some are just braver than others.Comment

I get what you are saying. He will fight anyway in his weight division; Both Cotto and Canelo was in his division after winning titles there, only just to relinquish them so they can both avoid challenging GGG. That is not Golovkin's fault. He was entitled to fight the very best in his weight class, however that elite competition bailed on him. So one cannot blame him for that. This is an example of what's wrong with g string. The first two paragraphs can't be denied. g string is all of that fan friendly, humble, etc. But the problem lies in that 3rd paragraph. Great fighter? Not with that resume. Most boxers tend to avoid? To some degree, but after bragging about how they would fight anyone from 154-168, they wouldn't fight Ward at 168, wouldn't fight Canelo at 155, and don't even want to hear Lara's name.
Now you may have a point however, when you claimed that he is willing to fight anyone from 154 all the way to a 168lb for certain Super middleweights not named Andre Ward; Whom he would entertain fighting at a catchweight of a 164lb. Yes, many would say that that was a sign of cowardice and weakness on his part. I will grant you that one.
However, I am not one of them. He was doing the same thing that the smaller fighters like Cotto and Canelo had done to him. He was being wise and smart. He knows his limitations better than anyone. He saw Andre Ward as a risk and a threat to him, who would have been a very tough style match up for him. Therefore, he was best to be avoided.
It's no big deal prize fighters have been ducking other prize fighters for years. It has been happening since the beginning of the sport.Comment

...and what would have been wrong with 164? If the only reason is cuz ward can't make the weight...then maybe he shouldn't look to fight a guy a division lower if he can't make a cw. Just like ggg better be prepared to fight canelo at 157 now that he's a jrmw again.Comment
