Maybe an immediate fight with one of their guys? They sure seem to be taking sweet time on the Jacobs/GGG fight. And why is the WBA even ALLOWING Mora to fight Jacobs??? Who is even RANKED by them in the top 15 and was KTFO in 2 rounds!

I can see them demanding GGG fight Blanco after Brook.
The WBA wants to enforce the mandatory on GGG as soon as Jacobs rematch with Mora is over. They wanted to do it as soon as the GGG/Canelo fight seemed unlikely. But Jacobs beat them to the punch by announcing that he was fighting in Barclays Arena (Brooklyn) in July with no opponent named. Eventually Jacobs got Mora, but Mora's team pushed for a later date so he could get a full camp in...so they pushed that fight back even more...it's the rematch nobody wanted. But I do believe that afterward, the WBA will enforce the mandatory. I think that GGG's team is fine with this because Jacobs was in their scope to begin with. That is, unless Jacobs vacates the title. Then that throws a whole new monkey wrench into the gears.

That's what I'm saying. You've got weight divisions that have been historically bad, & haven't gotten any better. If we're throwing down worst weight divisions, MW would most likely be middle-of-the-pack as far as present & potential talent.

Some boxing fans also believe that Hagler fought in a shallow middleweight division as well...perhaps due to that plane crash that took the lives of many promising American boxers in 1980. Divisions as glamorous as the MW division tend to have down periods here and there. It's usually that one champion who dominates ends up bringing that division along. I'm still acknowledging your point that the MW division isn't all that stocked with talent...not like WW is. But there needs to be something said that many might be downgrading the division due to how dominant GGG is...that could be a factor in perception.

I would LOVE to see Jacobs vs. GGG! Sign me up on that fight. Outside Canelo vs. GGG that's the best MW Matchup.

Too me the MW goes like this...

            #1 GGG A+
            #2 Canelo A-
#3 Cotto (Depending if you count his as MW) B+
            #4 Jacobs B
            #5 Saunders C+
            #6 Lemuix C
            #7 Eubank C
            #8 Lee C-

            5-8 would be almost a 50/50 fight.

I'd have to throw Quillin in there ahead of Eubank Jr because of his power. And Cotto is hovering at who-knows weight class (with the way they were trying to negotiate a fight with JMM at a catchweight). And you could probably throw N'Dam in there to round out the list (even though he's an Olympic boxer right now). But that's a good list.

he'd be the least tested mw undisputed champ of all times tho
but for the sake of him doing something at 68 it would be best if billy joe just hurried tf up and took the whooping or they just moved on

Oh I get it, its Hearn's fault that GGG is fighting a B level welterweight and avoiding real challenges. Thanks for clearing that up, Abel.

This truly was a situation where they had run out of viable options. So if Brook was willing to sign, they were going to settle with that payday in a British debut. Can't fault them there. The question for GGG critics is this: what other viable name is out there that would have been willing to fight GGG in September (what is that, 7-8 weeks of camp)?

How the fk would you know ?

And let me guess, Lara would have been too busy as well, right ?

As would Ramirez..... you just know that, right ?

They always say that. I mentioned fighting Groves since he also put 80,000 in Wembley Stadium, he's popular in the UK. And was coming off a win against a guy GGG beat. They told me Groves promoter wouldn't allow the fight to happen. Anytime you bring up GGG doing something that will make him uncomfortable his fans shoot it down.
