Tonight's very important, business wise, and the production result. IDEALLY I would've preferred a bout of Wilder vs Povetkin, USA vs Russia. Americans past 30 and their couch potato'ness would identity more easily with Heavyweights and old school rivalries. This is why I'm rooting for this underdog 147 matchup tonight. Very risky for PBC imo. Very ballsy. Meaning, a Heavyweight matchup could've led to spectacular ratings for primetime open air free boxing..vs how many years ago.

But according to folks here, big fights are what casuals WANT to see. And PBC is better positioned to provide that on the ESPN platform than FNF was.

They've been plenty "mismatches" on ESPN but nobody ever wanted them to fail.

          Unviable. Too little too late.

New poster. One question: why does it seem like people on a boxing site want PBC to fail? Not trying to troll, just curious.

I thought last night was better than cotto vs Canelo and the rematch is going to be big. Hopefully Garcia vs khan, etc wil be on there as well. I hope to see more great matches like this and the opportunity to watch Errol spence as he climbs.

Honestly I think there are a lot of bitter Floyd Mayweather haters who have transferred their dislike for him to Al Haymon. Since he was Mayweather's adviser.

By seeing PBC fail they think they are finally seeing Floyd fail too. Pretty deranged if you ask me but it is what it is.

Problem is that PBC has multiple platforms besides ESPN and can't really commit to one of them. They may have spread themselves too thin, IMO.

first rule of business is to offer a product that people want to access, and PBC sure as **** isnt doing that. Noone is interested in watching mismatches and **** cards, well apart from some of the 'hardcore' fans on this forum

Doesn't matter, as a 'spread thin' PBC is still better positioned to provide big money fights on the ESPN platform than FNF was.
