And another $7.5 million in attendance sales. If that's losing money then boxing is in REAL trouble! You need to recheck your math because your wrong...

The premium cable network hosting the ppv gets half right off the bat. Divide the remaining 50% and then get back to me

      $37.5 million /2 = $18.75 million. - $5.5 million for Khan and Canelo...$13.25 million.

Again that a lot of change. Who else is bringing that much in???? Pac and Floyd are retired.

It lost money???? You wish!! You can lie but numbers don't lie.

Obviously, GGG is selling out multiple venues, in different parts of the country. But the true gage of star power is PPV. And high dollar ticket costs. And GGG comes up very short in both those areas.
Someone on this site is trying to convince ppl this fight LOST $$$$. It made $37.5 million at least...Even after paying everyone there is still over $10++ million left

I think thats why when you cut thru the bs of his next fight list that GBP's matchmaker is talking about the only fights that are doable/realistic are Liam Smith & Cotto II with some small chance of BJS if BJS doesn't want $20M & a all access press pass to the AVN's + to announce the Best DP AVN award to make the fight.

If Canelo goes to 154 there is a murderers row of PBC guys there largely that I'd probably favor 3 or so of them of beating Canelo (I think Lara already did & if nothing else it was a very tight fight that could have went either way). After seeing Boo Boo this weekend in his biggest fight in awhile I think Boo Boo straight makes Canelo look awful & beats him & is probably the guy at 154 I most like to beat Canelo right now. If Canelo stays at 155 he's obviously in the same situation with GGG. Canelo doesn't got a great direction of going right now.
I agree. And you added that extra wrinkle of GBP targeting malleable fights like cotto or Liam Smith...it makes GBP's matchmaking prowess a lot less so. Not sure if he could get PBC fighters because of Haymon...but it's not like it's completely impossible to negotiate with Haymon fighters. Especially when we consider how much money could be made with good matchups at 154. If they're going to choose Liam Smith, then boxing fans will know that Canelo is taking the easy route since Smith is the newest crowned champ of the group. I would personally like to see him take J-Rock if he's not going to fight GGG next...and J-Rock will finally get that opportunity to show how good he is (I think he beats Canelo). But the GGG fight over anything.

If he goes back to fighting at 155, he will be skewered. If he goes back to 154 & doesn't fight a legit champ, he will be skewered. If he fights at 154 & doesn't look good, he will be skewered. If he fights at 154 & loses, he will be skewered. If he fights at 160 & doesn't choose a legit opponent, he will be skewered. If he fights at 160 & loses, he will be skewered. That leaves Canelo, as Malignaggi said, with very few options. If he goes back to 154, he can only choose among the top guys like Andrade, Charlo (the good one), Lara rematch, or J-rock...any other choice will be seen as a step down...even choosing Liam Smith will be a step down for Canelo. If he goes to 160, Eubanks Jr. or higher ranked 160's are his only options. Canelo literally f#cked himself. The only fight that would redeem Canelo is to fight GGG...& that is literally the most dangerous fight for him. Mexicans don't f#ck around, right?...right??

You couldn't be more wrong there. PBC are a boxing promotion company who buy air time from TV networks. HBO are a TV network who pay boxing promoters for the rights to screen their shows. Spot the difference?

HBO do not promote any of the fights they screen and their CEO does not act as manager/adviser to any of the fighters who appear on his network.

That number has already been debunked by ppv industry experts and rival promoters. The direct TV numbers project to almost 600k buys which is all that's available the first week. Cable numbers don't come out until weeks after so Kevin iole got bust lying and making up figures. He basically just took the half between what golden boy provided and that hack Glasier.

Really getting frustrated at Canelo recently, c'mon man!

I'm a fan of his, but it doesn't mean I can't get frustrated at the guy.
