Comments Thread For: Malignaggi: Canelo's Next Foes Will Reveal Golovkin Intentions

One of the most anticipated fights in boxing is a collision between Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin. Fans are crossing their fingers to see this match in the near future. Most expect the fight to come off at some point in 2017.

It will be a SWW! I wish it was Andrade or J-Rock, but more than likely it'll be Liam Smith!

Not sure why it would be Liam Smith, only Hard Core fans know who he is. That fight does not sell. Canelo is in the mentality of a A side fighter. It's going to be a payday.

Idk that Canelo gots a great next move lol. I think thats the main reason they are sitting in court finally after avoiding that case for 5 f#cking years somehow. I think thats why when you cut thru the bs of his next fight list that GBP's matchmaker is talking about the only fights that are doable/realistic are Liam Smith & Cotto II with some small chance of BJS if BJS doesn't want $20M & a all access press pass to the AVN's + to announce the Best DP AVN award to make the fight.

If Canelo goes to 154 there is a murderers row of PBC guys there largely that I'd probably favor 3 or so of them of beating Canelo (I think Lara already did & if nothing else it was a very tight fight that could have went either way). After seeing Boo Boo this weekend in his biggest fight in awhile I think Boo Boo straight makes Canelo look awful & beats him & is probably the guy at 154 I most like to beat Canelo right now. If Canelo stays at 155 he's obviously in the same situation with GGG. Canelo doesn't got a great direction of going right now.

paulie is really overrating this weightclass, and why he's doing it is no surprise :

              they fight on showtime!

bigger charlo, andrade, and lara are good fighters. lara and andrade are much, much better fighters tahn bigger charlo.

smaller charlo is just famous because of his brother. that kid relaly isn't much to write home about. and his brother's potency comes from his size. that's a big, big JMW. so is andrade. those guys are big. willie nelson was f#cking enormous

then you've got little charlo, austin trout, a very old miguel cotto [who trout beat soundly,]

the division isn't that good, paulie. but they do all fight on the network that employs you.

now, to the golovkin detractors, these are the good fights that you want to see golovkin take, right?
why aren't you ripping these kids, two of whom are probably bigger than golovkin, to move up?

Until the top men at 154 stop avoiding each other, we don't how competitive the division is, or how they compare to the top dogs at 160.

Those guys won't fight each other and they won't move up and challenge themselves either. Isn't that what REAL fighters are supposed to do, either fight each other or move up and challenge themselves?
