As an American, I'm pretty offended by your comment. Americans support Mexicans, Eastern Europeans, Brits, Germans, Filipinos, etc. Yet when we support one of our own (i.e. Ward, Andrade, Spence Jr.) we're overhyping?" You just put the word slick in quotation marks. Why? Andrade is "slick." Lara is "slick." Lomachenko is "slick." What's wrong with "slick?" I don't know what problem you have with American fighters, but you can just say thank you because this sport wouldn't be **** without Jack Johnson, Joe Louis, Sugar Ray Robinson, Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Sugar Ray Leonard, Mike Tyson, Pernell Whitaker, and Floyd Mayweather, just to name a few! Sorry to say, but the train won't stop! WE ALL THE WAY UP!!!

Some casual fans actually think that people struggling against each other means its the best division.
It just shows there are several fighters on an equal level.
Some divisions have fighters who are just a level above and make the other decent fighters look bad.
If that great fighter wasn't in that division y'all would claim that division is great then, so now there is that elite fighter you claim this division sucks.
Charlos? The smaller one lost all rounds to a contender. He is mediocre.
The bigger Charlo had a close fight with Austin Trout, he is decent. Very tall, big dude, how long can he drain himself down to 154?
Andrade? Good fighter, but very inactive. I hope they actually fight each other now and have a unified champion.Comment

Your NUTZ!!! And Cotto is Puerto Rican, Lara is Cuban, Liam Smith is from the U.K. , Martirosyan is Armenian, Molina is Mexican, and if we had Canelo he's Mexican.Better division, huh? But who is great at 154?
Depending if we count Cotto and Nelo at 154, last time I checked they fought "above".
That's maybe the most "interesting" division, pretty much different.
Cruiserweights are even more interesting IMO, and I would say many divisions, like light heavyweights, have a better top 4 of champions (Hopkins, Stevenson, Ward, Kovalev)
In that SWW division you have Andrade who is a VERY solid fighter, then Lara, big Charlo is OK on the worldscene.
Trout was good but is over the "hill" now.
The rest are US domestic level fighters, so called "slick" average champions and contenders.
Everytime a division if full of US fighters in the top 10, the division is overhyped and so automatically overrated.
Except Andrade, they would all end up beaten if they moved up to 160 to a title shot.
Even the weakest titilist Jacobs would crack most of those "so called good" guys you listed.
Don't get me wrong, I'm hyped about 154 but they barely have one guy on my and most P4P top 20 so how I could call it the best division in the sport?
Pound For Pound Top 25.
#18 Lara
#13 Cotto
#7 Canelo
Andrade if fought more would be there.Comment

Outside of GGG and Canelo the MW division is GARBAGE buried in dog sht. Jacobs got KTFO in 5 rounds. Outside GGG is don't think they even have any ranked P4P in the top #50.Comment

Canleo's last fight did somewhere in the 500K range, depending on which source you believe. That's amazing considering that it was seen as a complete joke of a fight that got close to ZERO support from the hardcore boxing community. That's an awesome number conaidering pretty much everybody that ordered it was either a Canelo fan, Khan fan, or casual fan.His last one? Gtfoh. This isn't a compare and contrast idiot. Everyone knows Canelo is the A-side. Moving through whatever division he is claiming (155 isn't a weight class) or has fighters willing to come from to fight him in Canelo class is way beyond ridiculous. Ggg's ppv numbers suck. But, the world wants Canelo to fight this guy next. Also, if you know anything about math, canelo's last ppv lost money domestically.
As for Caneloweight. If you watch lower levels of boxing. Guys fighting a lb or two above a weight class in non-title fights isn't all that rare, which is what Canelo did againat other jr middleweights at 155. Cotto requested the 155 in his fight with Canelo. And against Khan, I'd say the catchweight was a favor to Khan, seeing how he was the guy moving up.Comment

First of all I didn't rate the division. I pointed out that those fighters have fought each other. Am I wrong? Name another division where the top 10 fighters have fought each other as much. Why are you overrating the JMW division? Like Pauline? And FYI if you actually followed boxing. Instead of just your bruddas, you would acknowledge the CW division is far far deeper then the JMW. Where there isn't a monopoly of fighters but yet they all fight one another. If canelo goes to 154 he's a ***** simple as. Lara chats c.rap about GG he should move up and get body bagged. Andrade is the only solid solid fighter there. The Charlo bros aren't that impressive.Comment

I brought up HBO as an example how they aren't held to the same standards as Haymon. Even though they've been in the boxing game longer and are supposed to be the gold standard.Funny thing is we are not talking about HBO, so I really dont understand why HBO is being brought up, they have their own problems & BS too but at least they are forcing Ward vs. Kovalev! I/we are talking about PBC and the issues I see and the one you fail to recognize. you gave no real explanation as to why none of these guy are fighting each other, other than Haymon gives them a list of names and they choose not to fight each other. C'mon so are you saying the fighters themselves are ducking each other? I understand with Walters he wanted more $, but Haymon pays well, better than Cheapo Arum at least so are they taking the easy road? I can understand making a $ grab, these guys have a lifestyle to support but as a fan I dont understand why someone wouldnt want to see 1 champ.
And to answer your question, Haymon cannot force anyone to fight just like Arum couldnt hold a gun to Walters to fight Lomanchecko for pennies BUT Al could make big $ offers to unify instead of making such big$ offers to fight Rod Salkas and country music singers.
How do you know how much Haymon is offering these fighters? This idea that Haymon overpays fighters is false. Compare the purses to his cards to similar cards on HBO. Garcia, Thurman, Porter, Quillin, Jacobs, all get paid less than Tim Bradley and Andre Ward. Lomachenko got paid $850k to fight Martinez who got paid $450k. Jacobs and Lee got paid $500k each when they fought. Bradley vs Rios and Lomachenko vs Koaischa cost more than Quillin vs Lee and Garcia vs. Peterson.
If you paid the least bit of attention you would notice there are certain fighters with a minimum. Garcia, Thurman, Broner, Porter, Guerrero. So anytime you have two or more of those fighters on the same card the card purse will be higher. That's like HBO having Lomachenko and Bradley on the same card. The overall purse is going to be higher.Comment

Paulie is a former champion boxer. I don't think that really makes him an expert on who Canelo will or won't be fighting in the future. He is just guessing and his opinion is no more or less accurate than anybody else's. My opinion is no more valuable than Paulie's but I think if Canelo doesn't fight GGG next then that fight won't happen for years if ever.Comment

Lara is easily inside any top 20. Probably should be top 10 based on beating Canelo.Better division, huh? But who is great at 154?

When's the last time Cotto or Canelo got " forced" to fight anyone they didn't want to?He'll never get any. But they never complain about HBO forcing fighters on their networks to fight each. The only fighter they forced to fight another fighter is the one with the best resume on the whole network. The only guy who cleaned out his division. GGG had been waiting for his WBC title shot since 2014 and the two fighters who held the belt both fought on HBO and he never got his shot. But they'll never complain about HBO forcing fighters to fight.
Making s bunch of nobodies fight each other is a little different than making superstars fight who you want them to..Comment
