ah! you take bob for a fool?
of course, bob knew better.....
he has lived so many years and still is operating within the system....
bob does not find it in his best interest to act on this...not for pac...not for anybody...
he will not really bite the hands that feed him....
and do you think bob is foolish enough to believe nsac will render a verdict that will expose its bare *ss?
for bob, there is still life within the system after pac....
put yourself in his shoes....and ask yourself what's the + and - for you, as bob, in this issue....
Bob DID try to pass the buck on the NSAC regarding Pac's situation. He said that paperwork was filed with the NSAC about the injury.
@5:39 Saying that the attorneys filed paperwork about the injury with the NSAC.
Now look at the NSAC's side:
“I found out about the issue just after 6 (p.m.),” he said. “They never filed any legal paperwork with the commission prior to the fight that he was hurt. We had Dr. (Timothy) Trainor and Dr. (James) Game check him out, and it was an easy decision on our part.”
Is Arum lying again? What paperwork one week before? He disclosed what medication they took on the medical form the day before the fight, but no injury. He attempted to make it seem like he did disclose the injury (one week before, mind you). So I don't think Arum was too worried about trying to throw NSAC under the bus.
you may look at it that way, but nsac had made pronouncements that only nsac can issue tue....though nothing really came out of it for whatever reason....
remember, one nsac member resigned over the pac floyd fiasco....i would only touch on this in passing as to point out that not everything was on the up and up in the nsac specially when the issue of "disciplining pac" was up in the air....
i am not aware, if any disciplinary action was given to pac....
When it comes to disciplining Pac, the problem is that Pac's team made the mistake of trying to place blame on the NSAC. They claimed the NSAC knew about the injury a week ahead of time. Because of that accusation, the NSAC came back talking about disciplinary action. Old Bob was trying to cover his a$$ by saying he filed paperwork disclosing the injury, and the NSAC said you won't get away with blaming us, and if you want to go there, we will go in on you.Last edited by travestyny; 05-28-2016, 12:52 PM.Comment

Even one full year later, boxing fans just can't seem to shake off the massive letdown that came with the long-awaited and ultimately disappointing showdown between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao last May.

Ok, let me approach this post in another way then.

Seems to me that because of what NSAC said, it would have boded much better to appeal being that they had a beef with USADA in the beginning.

It is sad that people can't let go..
Crawford or Postol? Who would you choose?Comment

I'm not sold on Crawford just yet. I know lots of people are singing his praises, but I think he has a lot more to prove. Can't make a prediction on this fight, but Postol is definitely going to be a good test. If a gun were put to my head, I'd go with Crawford.Comment

Based on what eff pandas and you are saying, I think I pass on this fight. Postol beat Lucas costing me money.Comment

"If you put on a form under penalty of perjury that you're not injured going into the fight, then later claim you were injured going into the fight, you've broken the rules. That's what Manny did. I know of no other fighter that's done that."
floyd have not indicated in the form that he was "dehydrated"....then claimed later he was and that he needed 750ml iv.....Comment

I'm not defending Manny, I'm arguing against this ****** ass concept that you gotta announce your injury to the betting public at large or risk being sued. And before this fight I'd never had heard of anyone signing the "I'm Injured or Nah" form ever or at least I don't recall hearing of it ever brought up.
I'd assume people have lied on it before, cuz there are a TON of injuries fighters have going into fights or they did list all their ailments & the public at large was never told that whoever had an injured left hand pre-fight to make the most informed bet possible.
Going into a fight injured, to one degree or another, is SUPER COMMON.
I don't get how this is that hard to understand outside of Manny's name being involved. And I've had equally illogical debates with anti-Floyd people too. Those two f#cking guys make so many people lose rational thought.
Bottom line for me is you can't sue & win over fighters going into fights injured without telling everyone & their moms without some drastic changes to boxing that will result in a ton of late, day of, fight cancelations &/or getting rid of post-fight pressers/interviews to avoid fighters potentially saying self incriminating things that could result in the fighter, promoter & network losing millions of dollars in lawsuits.
I'll pick on Maravilla again. He was 100% against Chavez Jr. Gets hurt. Faces Murray, he's a shell of himself and his knee is clearly bothering him. Word gets out.
But Sergio never once cut an interview saying that his knee was 100%. He said he had surgery and felt good, but he had to wear knee braces per doctor's orders. The braces were cleared by the commission. Which means the commission was informed and aware of what was going on. Yes, it affected betting odds.
Floyd's hands have been known to be brittle since the Baldomir fight when he physically showed he was in pain.
Tommy Hearns' hands were discovered to be brittle when he changed his fight style, and he later admitted that his hands were a problem due to the gloves he would wear for knockouts.
Joe Frazier had a jacked up eye - legally blind and fought regardless, but he told the commission and everyone else and was allowed to fight anyway.
My point is the precedent has been there since long before MayPac. It's not about them. It was publicized for that fight because of Manny's lies and a desire to know the truth of the matter (Which we still don't). You can't blame the gamblers, you can't blame the promoters, you can't blame the fans. It's all on Manny MF'n Pacquiao lying.
Had he just said "the better man won" we wouldn't be having this conversation, we'd be talking odds on MayPac 2.Comment

If there is a lawsuit for Manny & other people associated with his injury there are surely a lawsuit for Sergio & other people associated with his injury.
And like I keep saying these things are not uncommon. Fighters fight injured all the time without disclosing their injury or how injured they were. Thats the main point I keep making that no one is touching cuz they know I'm 100% correct.Comment

We don't really know if Pacquiao was injured before the fight. We only know he filled out a form that said he wasn't, then after the fight said an injury was the reason he lost. That's the problem. You can't lie blatantly like that.
Sergio specifically said he was injured going into the Cotto fight. He admitted it and didn't use it as an excuse for why he got manhandled.
As Miguel Cotto and Sergio Martinez prepare to do battle at Madison Square Garden on June 7, a lot of focus is on how much Cotto has left in the tank after his many wars. Martinez, however, is the older fighter with severe injuries he's rebounding from.
Originally posted by Sports World NewsTo his credit, "Maravilla" has worked very hard to overcome the hand and knee ailments that plagued him in a tough fight against Martin Murray in Argentina, and claims he'll be in tip-top shape vs. the Puerto Rican.
"My knees are feeling great. I have been running in the mornings on the treadmill," said Martinez. "It's been a great camp and I am feeling great and haven't felt this good in a long time. The recuperation was very painful. I was on crutches for nine months, and it is very hard to come back from that."
His torn meniscus was not the only problem that he has had to overcome to get ready for this major bout. "It is not easy to prepare for a fight when you have some of the ailments that I have when preparing for a world championship fight. I struggle with joint pains, knee pain and shoulder pain," Martinez said.
Instead, Pacquiao, Arum and Roach all made it seem like nothing was wrong. Then they dismiss Floyd's win making up the injury excuse. People question why he marked he wasn't injured if he was injured.
To this day we don't know when the injury happened because of so many lies.
Yes, people have a right to sue. He marked the form improperly - or he didn't. It reeks of a scam by Top Rank.Comment
