Here is Sergio talking about his knee & elbow injuries before the Cotto fight. To my knowledge this WAS NOT disclosed publicly. If the extent of those injuries were known my assumption would be the commission would have not allowed this fight to happen. And it sounds like Sergio would have done what is necessary to avoid this fight being canceled. Should Sergio, DiBella &/or HBO or other potential knowing or should have known parties be sued over this situation?
"I was not going to suspend that fight with only four days to go. They would have killed me! I could have never set foot in my own country! I thought, 'Dead or alive, I am getting into that ring.' But it was difficult, knowing that four days before the fight I had injured my knee, and one day before the fight my elbow almost came apart, and I couldn’t even lift my left arm, and then in the second round I fractured my hand. I had to struggle a lot, a long, uphill battle, but I thought, ‘I am leaving my heart here, I am leaving my life.’ And I did.”
And again this is nothing new. Manny didn't invent going into a fight with an injury. This happens ALL THE TIME. Its disclosed post-fight or at later dates often enough that there are probably dozens of high profile lawsuits that could come if this becomes a thing & hundreds of lower profile lawsuits for lower level fights.Comment

So I bet against Martinez.Comment

What I'm saying is clearly Martinez was injured beyond the ongoing known knee issues & rumors we all knew about, heard about or were hinted at going into many of his last several fights. Sergio went into this fight far below his best even with his known limitations due to any previous knee surgery.
If he didn't disclose on this "Injured or Nah" form that he re-injured his leg 4 days before the fight & injured his elbow 1 day before the fight to the extent he couldn't lift his arm for some period 24hrs before the fight do you think he should be sued?
Do you think the commission should have even let him fight if he did disclose the extent of these injuries if he actually did disclose them on the "Injured or Nah" form?
Should DiBella & HBO & potentially other parties knowing of this situation or should have known of this be open to being sued just like with this Manny situation?
This is the stuff I'm getting at.
And again I'm sure you could find literally hundreds of things like this that happened before a fight that wasn't disclosed about until post-fight. This is not uncommon at all. I don't think some of you guys understand the flood gates that get opened if this lawsuit is successful.Comment

I love money, and always bet my wallet. Unless Floyd is KO'ed, he seems invincible.
So much hypocrisy, and double standards.

Here is Sergio at the final presser saying he is "prepared to win" with his f#cked up leg newly f#cked up.
You can play semantics since there is this Injured or Nah form as evidence for Manny & us not knowing how Sergio answered on any form like this in NY, but all signs almost always point to you getting the best version of a fighter going into the fight. Virtually no one is talking about all the **** thats wrong with them cuz it makes that thing a target.
I just don't see how anyone can say someone isn't at fault here just like in the Manny case. Its just a matter of who. Sergio for lying to the commission (assuming he did) &/or his promoter & HBO (assuming he did on both accounts here as well). Arum, DiBella & HBO if they knew anything about the extent of Sergio's injuries. Or the commission for letting a guy as injured as Sergio was fight if Sergio was honest with his injuries. For sure there is a problem somewhere & someone is suable for the same reasons this Manny thing is going down. Hell this was even a PPV fight that was probably one of the top 5 or so most bet fights of the year.Comment

Show me the link where Sergio was telling people he hurt his already diminished knee 4 days before the Cotto fight & couldn't lift his left arm 1 day before the Cotto fight.

I will look for the source online, or in my email. I bet all the time, so I get lots of stuff sent to me regularly by other guys that bet.
Not to change the subject on you, but this Crawford vs Postol fight
Has me spooked. Postol already cost me money when I bet against him. I always bet at the last minute, when I get as much info as possible, even then, it is a crap shoot. Who would you pick?Comment

"If you put on a form under penalty of perjury that you're not injured going into the fight, then later claim you were injured going into the fight, you've broken the rules. That's what Manny did. I know of no other fighter that's done that."
floyd have not indicated in the form that he was "dehydrated"....then claimed later he was and that he needed 750ml iv.....
Floyd won the fight. People who bet on him have no beef with him.Comment

For me this one is easy. First of I've been liking Postol & I've been thinking Crawford is a lil overrated. Second, I see this as a even-ish fight regardless of who I like or don't like. So the +380ish line for Postol seems beautiful to me right now. This is a clear dog or pass situation I think as a guy who's probably won a nice amount on emotionlessly betting the dog in fights I see as 50/50ish. I mean how can you even bet -570 on Crawford here if you think he's gonna win 60%-70% of the time? I can't.Last edited by Eff Pandas; 05-28-2016, 11:54 AM.Comment
