The problem with a lot of PBC fighters

Current boxing is dead. Why, because everyone wants to build stars out of scraps for long periods of time. Fans are pissed that winners rarely fight winners. People in the business led by Haymon are hell-bent on just making exhibition fights thinking that it's the star they want to see, not the competitive fight.
Look at how Sho/PBC do it when they announce their top fighters' next fight: "Garcia scheduled in June vs TBA or TBD (to be announced, to be decided)," "Lara is coming back vs TBA/TBD in September," "Santa Cruz vs TBA in May," etc.
It's nauseating. The intention of pitting top fighter against another top fighter is simply not there.

Just name in year in boxing history and you will have at least a handful of stars.. Today you have canelo, who can't even break a million buys in his biggest fight..
Name any year in boxing and it will have a handful of stars.. Except now

Floyd/Berto did the same gate as Aldo/McGregor.
In 2015, two of the top 15 largest Nevada boxing gates in history took place.
We're coming off the most lucrative year in the history of boxing. Of course there is going to be a setback and a bit of rebuilding that needs to take place.
As far as the "no stars in boxing", I'm happy that's the case because none of these dudes deserve to be stars. We don't need stars right now we need fights to take place so we the fans can elect the next star in the sport. Right now that's not happening. The promoters and networks are trying to convince us that they have the next guy but don't want to prove it to us.

Maybe boxing needs to create "stars" a different way then they are now. Instead of making everyone a KO monster-why not make great fights and the guy who is left standing at the end-make him the star.
The cream will always rise to the top,, in mma you had silva, gsp, jones.. In boxing I got no doubt that hopkins, floyd. Manny would all be the best, regardless of the matchmaking..
Boxong shines when they put manny vs marqiez 1, cotto-margarito 1, etc..
Fans aren't ****** and they realize guys loke Berto, wilder, etc haven't fought anybody to earn their spot...
Boxing just needs better match making year round... Canelo-khan is a ****ing joke,, mma would be giving us Canelo-ggg right now.... And winner would get Jacobs,,m winner of that would get winner of quillen-lee 2, etc... Make guys go up n down the rankings ladder.. Everytime a contender is vanquished another emerges...

Lim upset with Pbc because they have had a golden opportunity to fix boxing, but they are just like the status quo (sanctioning bodies, catchweights, mismatches, inactivity) and are no different then arum, King, hbo etc except they pay money to be on network TV...
Pbc had a chance to be starkly different but they are basically the same.. A bunch of mismatch showcase fights with a handful of competitive fights thrown in...
Pbc has the chance at worst to be the bellator or ecw of boxing, and at best be the wwe or ufc of boxing...
I'm a huge supporter of Pbc, and like the concept of it, but have hated the execution so far... Not a hater, not saying they suck and are a flop n failure. but they have not impressed me so far with the execution

2floyd always draws a big gate,,,, he is the ultimate A-side,,m but Conor-Aldo doubled up them on PPv buys, and that's where the really money is..
3. Most lucrative year in boxing because of one fight, a fight that left a sour taste in every casual fan's mouth and hurt future PPVs immensely,,
4. I kinda agree with you about having 'stars'. The reason we have no true stars is becaise nobody is fighting like a star.. Ali fought everyone, tyson four everyone, Evander fought everyone,, leonard fought benitez duran twice, and hearns within 2 years.. Oscar fought pernell, tito, shane, quartey in18 months..
Manny fought barrera twice, morales 3 times, and marquez twice in a four year period.. That's what makes stars,,, not showcase mismatches

These are his fighters whom he's in full control of, yet he prefers to pit them against nobodies.
