If both networks are overpaying for mismatches, why is it only a problem when PBC does it?

PBC does it all the time, HBO does it when they have too. Rios only makes like 500K if RIOS was on PBC he would be getting 1.2 million each time out.

I don't get it. LSC/Kiko was the same split as Crawford/Lundy or just about. Both major en******, HBO and PBC, are making matches where the main attraction gets a roughly 90/10 split.

OK. Let's say Berto/Algeiri (even though it's probably more like a Carlos Molina/K9/Ishe). Boxing fans criticized those fights and are in here praising this fight. Exactly proving my point.

You may be right, but this is clearly a Haymon thing. Berto was on HBO and gets $1 million per fight because of Haymon. HBO ended their relationship with him and learned a lesson that is now impossible to reverse.

That's not accurate. Rios has made 500k a few years ago. Rios also isn't a main attraction. If you look at the splits Kov, Crawford, Danny, LSC have all got in their mismatches all are getting somewhere between 80/20 -90/10. I expect same for GGG and Broner.

It of course would be better if we got more fights where the opponents were closer in level so the pay would be maybe $750k/550k split.

Rios made close to a million to fight Bradley who made like 1.5 in an empty arena. Crawford just made over a million to fight lundy. Good for all of them cause i didnt see a dime of it so dont care.

I got sport and they got paid.

You are not making sense. If HBO wanted to reverse it they could very easily. But HBO realizes that making fights like this gets their stars an easy win and big payments, no different than Haymon.

Your real issue seems to be the purses Haymon fighters get. Why? If both en****** are doing this you should have an equal problem with both.

Exactly. If they have the power to negotiate that fee, so be it. That said, it can't only be a problem when PBC gets LSC $1 mil to fight Kiko buts its ok that HBO/TR gets Crawford $1 mil to fight Lundy.

McGregor proved he was the best at his weight-class. Khan took the safe route and waited around until he got a big fight. Broner proved he was the best at 135 and jumped to 147 and beat Paulie and lost to Maidana and he gets ridiculed for that loss.

Berto was also a young, undefeated WW Champion with a fan-friendly offensive style who threw every dayum punch with bad intentions. You know, everything I hear fans supposedly want in a young fighter. And he also looked like the possible future of the division.

But let's just ignore all that.
