So that wasn't even remotely similar to what Canelo is doing with the MW title now.
I think Razcal has stated that Ray would have done so, had he have the opportunity.

    But I think it's a joke what Canelo's doing.

Watch Ward's team act like a bunch of ignorant street animals when Shaw and Dawson start talking about whose idea it really was to fight at 168.

Well, he's not the A-side now.
          It wasn't the same thing.

First, Canelo is the champion @ MW. Bumlovkin is a titlist. Big difference.

Second, the fact that they both fight in the same division also doesn't detract from my original point. 155 = 164. A catchweight is a catchweight. It is very hypocritical of Team Triple Duck to demand a 164lb catchweight for Ward [all while having agreed to fight other SMWs @ the full 168lb limit] but on the other hand refuse to fight Alvarez @ 155lbs. That is the very definition of hypocrisy and anyone who doesn't hold Bumlovkin's feet to the fire for ducking Ward or refusing the 155lb catchweight proves themselves nothing other than a fanboi and nut guzzler...
So you're not going to allow for any circumstances, and you're just going to repeat your original points?

            Great.

He shouldn't have to take the fight at 155.

Ultimately, people defend or criticize catchweights when it suits them.

He shouldn't have to but it would be better for his career he's so good that going down is only a bit of a risk and he needs to get on track and fast because he's struggling for good fights (not his fault) and him asking ward for a catchweight undermines his stance a bit aswell

From what I can gather, there were no serious negotiations with Ward. Ward said 50/50 on the purse, so Golovkin's team said 50/50 on the weight.

Since then people have ran with it.

I agree that Golovkin desperately needs a big fight, but he shouldn't have to concede even a pound a to the lineal belt holder, who can weigh in as high as 172 on fight night.
