Fight night weight matters if you blow up 20lbs, it's unhealthy. But you're right, Canelo is probably not showing fight night weights from now on. I think Chavez stopped also?
159 is unfair for any mw trying to get a title, 155 is really bad, cant defend that...
I'm against that just cuz canelo holds the title... if it wasn't for that, then I don't mind...

Even then 155 is harsh, but I'd have no issues with 57 if Canelo was not holding the belt. Neither would team GGG. But in another post you're saying no way he vacates, as he should. I still think 157-8 would do it without vacating, let's see if Canelo shows some flexibility. If not, better give up the belt and come challenge when ready

I think vacating is the right thing to do if he doesn't want to defend at 160, but like I said his big ego wont allow him that... hope I'm wrong...

          1. First time a champ demands CW from a mando, never mind lineal champ
          2. First time reigning champ tries to drag a divisional rival to lowest possible CW. It's really rare anyone tries that
          3. First champ ever to request a CW while outweighing the challenger fight night.

          Bonus challenge:
List all fights you know of before Dlh Hopkins with champ imposing a CW on guy from same division
Pacquiao forced a catchweight on a fighter from the division below.

You can call it what you want, it's one of the worse catchweights of all time.

Right, while Algueris promoter was lobbying to keep the LWW belt. Good call, idiot.

Does that make a WW title holder forcing a LWW title holder to fight below the WW limit, for the WW title any less bullshit?

You forget, no one gives a **** about the Algieri fight. And you don't drain a guy who'd otherwise be defending his belt a division lower. Maybe Arum felt it'd look like less of a mismatch, who gives a fcuk. But does this mean you finally get there's no comparison between 155 and 164?

It's OK because nobody cares, that's your defence? Preventing a fighter moving up in weight from having the chance to put on the weight he would like and be as strong as possible at the higher division is one of the most cowardly moves i've ever seen in the sport.
