The Baldomir fight was boring, The Gatti fight wasn't. Why are you guy's picking and choosing which fights to highlight?????

      Clearly.

      But do you.
If there's plenty then post it. It's simple. "Playing dumb?" I'm curious to see these references. Did I say you were wrong? Don't be so insecure, buddy.

I don't know if there's any articles on the Internet, but a lot of people definitely considered Whitaker a "boring" fighter.

Casuals don't tend to enjoy defensive fighters. Hell, many hardcore fans don't.

I agree to some extent, but not at all to the degree that he should now be likened to Mayweather. It was never like that and anyone who says so has no idea what they're talking about. Again, there are degrees to things.

I remember that clearly. Anybody who denies it either wasn't following the sport at the time or lying.

I'm not sure, it was pretty similar I'd say. People called them both boring and mainly due to the defensive style they used and I'd say just a general lack of KO's for the most part.

Although IMO younger Floyd was more exciting than any version of Whitaker. But, 147 Whitaker was more exciting to watch than 147 Floyd though, IMO.

Difference between the two is Floyd has a huge PPV star with his "boring" style unlike Whitaker who didn't manage to reach those levels of stardom.

This is where the discussion gets straight dumb. We're talking about making a direct comparison between Mayweather and Whitaker. Generic arguments are for mainstream sports. Not boxing. This is where we split hairs. Was Whitaker "boring" to a true purist? Was he a "runner" to a learned fan? **** no. Could Floyd be rightfully accused of those things by the same group? **** yes. But it's all subjective. IMO on issues like this one, this, is where we separate the true morons from the people that have half a clue and really understand the artform.
