Yup Bhop and many others had to do what GGG has to do. Hopkins was the true lineal Middleweight champ, number 1p4p fighter in the world, had already headlined successful PPVs and still do get Oscar who had NEVER fought a Middleweight to fight him had to agree to catchweight, a significantly smaller piece of the purse split, and had to agree to fight on Oscar's undercard before they fought. If Hopkins can do all that GGG can as well. Canelo to get the Floyd fight had to agree to a catchweight and a 10% purse split with Floyd getting 90% and Canelo at that time was a much bigger star and draw then GGG is today. Canelo, Hopkins, even floyd had to give in to weight and other demands when they fought bigger stars and draws.

He's the mandatory challenger for Canelo's title, you moron.

          Was BHop Oscar's mando?

Never, in the entire history of boxing, has a world champion tried to defend against a mandatory challenger at a CW below the divisional limit.

What makes me laugh is that most of the Canelo fans think that his demands are getting slightly ridiculous, and the loudest supporters of all the BS are just idiots who hate Golovkin. Sad.

You hit the nail on the head my friend! Canelo, if he is a TRUE Mexican Warrior should have no problem fighting and defending the belt at the weight for which the belt stands for, 160lbs! Canelo and DeLaHoya are smart though because they know GGG is going to put Canelo to sleep and there goes Oscar's cash cow, so they want all the advantages as possible. This is going to be another, albeit in a much smaller way, Floyd vs Pacman runaround all over again!

Ur talking **** son...canelo is already in golovkins division..154lb-160lb and canelo fights at 155lb lol...It's nothing to do with how popular a fighter is ...it's called weight divisions and if your champion at that weight whether it's golovkin,Jacobs or even Eubanks jnr they have every right to come in at 160...now go get a brain

f.uck a belt.....wbc needs canelo more than the other way around. you damn lil g's stans love to talk about mandatory fights as if that crap means anything. when was the last time the sport's cash cow actually fought a mandatory?a pos wbc belt doesn't mean anything to canelo popularity and power.
