Only 2 good wins he got is Lara and old Cotto. Same cotto that was supposedly washed up when another fighter beat him in a more exciting fight.

You're right but this time around he and his team seem reluctant to make this fight materialize.

I believe Oscar has a lot to do with it. GGG is his cash cow and he can't afford for him to suffer a devastating loss. Especially after a career defining win over Cotto.

Because I'm quite certain Cotto Floyd did more than cotto canelo. 900k is disappointing for that kind of fight. 70/30 is fair
Fair points. I'd have no problem with 70/30.

He can always do a one off fight with Rameriz, but that's hardly enough reason to completely abandon 160lbs. Ward has already stated that he will not go back down to 168lbs for Golovkin (he knows what effect it had on Chad Dawson).

If GGG/HBO are able to land fights with Haymon clients, then 3-4 fights with any of the following; Derevyanchenko, Khytrov, Eubank, Jacobs/Quillin (their going to have a rematch per Espinoza), Lara, J-Rock, and Charlo's would all more than make up not fighting Alvarez.
I just feel like fighting mediocre guys at 168 would be more of a challenge than doing the same at 160. I don't know.

Couldn't even crack a million with Cotto SMH Mexico must know he's a FRAUD
"canelo is exciting"...Yeah.. only against the Kirkland's of the world.
That was the worse cherry pick in the history of boxing. How the heck did he win FOTY by beating 2 old guys the cotto fight was boring no way he should of won. Badou Jack had a better year imo

Canelo and Oscar are ****s but man this shit is too funny. I think it'd be hilarious if Canelo stays at 155lbs. no matter what(stripped or not) and forces Lil G to accept, move up, or never get a big name on his resume.
If Canelo doesn't want to fight his reputation is going to take a serious hit, not Golovkin's. Lets be realistic, if the fight does happen GGG is going to be the favorite, its not like Canelo is some unbeatable monster everybody wants to be the one to defeat.

Canelo is fighter that wants to be the next big thing in boxing and the funny thing is if he fought and beat GGG he probably would but he's afraid to take the chance. I read how much GGG needs Canelo but I don't see it that way, If GGG beats Canelo he did what he was supposed to do because most people expect him to win that fight but if Canelo mans up and beats GGG he's instantly the man that beat the boogyman and that's a real boost for getting him where he wants to be.
