Floyd was actually generous to the fraud clown and gave him 2 lbs. What's so funny is he said this after beating Kermit freakn Cintron. With that gay a..ss emoji lol

After his win, Alvarez challenged Mayweather on national television. Mayweather is scheduled to fight on May 5th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Alvarez approached Oscar De La Hoya, President of Golden Boy Promotions, and requested a fight with Mayweather.
"It's what I want, the Mayweather fight. That's what we put on the table. I feel more mature and for that I am willing to go down to 150 pounds," said Canelo to Sal Rodriguez. "De la Hoya said he was going to pursue the Mayweather fight [for me]. We are ready for it. It's what people want, for me to fight someone like [Mayweather]."

          • Yeah... lol.

I partially hope Golovkin just agrees, but also I am legitimately not sure if GGG can make 155, there's no evidence that he can. 5 pounds is a pretty deep gouge for a dude who looks like hes completely ripped and dehydrated at 160 weigh ins. It's literally asking for him to forfeit muscle mass.

I just hope these guys fight. Canelo has a belt at 160 so I think this whole thing looks way worse on him either way. Defend the title at the appropriate weight limit ffs.

              I was being sarcastic there!

GGG/Ward was a totally different scenario than GGG/Canelo.

GGG wasn't going after Ward's title and they were in different divisions.

The equavalent would be GGG winning a title at 168 then trying to defend it against his mandatory challenger at 161.

I don't think any of his fans would support him if he tried a disgraceful trick like that.

              I certainly wouldn't.

              • I miss the days when Duran,Hearns,Mugabi and Leonard all jumped up from welterweight and LM to face a bigger stronger middlweight marvin hagler who had the same aura as golovkin and every one of those fights was contested at the middlweight limit of 160lb.....since 1884 the middlweight limit has been 160lb and that's the oldest weighted division since boxing began.....and here you have some kid who has come along recently still green not even considered a great and has jumped up to another fighters divsion simply because he is draining himself to make 154lb now ...part of me wants golovkin to stand by his guns and say no it's 160lb but a bigger part of me wants glovkin to say ok I can meet you half way and it's a 157lb limit....just send this feral kid back down to lower division and teach him some honour in regards to acting like a champion intead of hi******* a title and not honouring that belt

                • No problem with Canelo standing firm at 155. And if GGG refuses to agree to catchweight it hurts him not the other way around. It was GGG who opened his fat mouth and said he was willing to fight Floyd at 154 and his handlers said they can make that weight no problem. So now 1 pound higher he is going to balk? Especially when he will get no sympathy crying about a catchweight being enforced on him when just this year HE DID THE EXACT SAME THING TO WARD. The difference is Canelo has NEVER said he would fight GGG or anyone at 160. He said he will GGG right now but it will be on his terms and his weight. He can continue fighting Jr Middleweights make big money and nobody will call him liar or hypocrite. GGG said he could fight at 154 but can't fight at 155? And then said he will fight anyone at 168 and then when Ward called his bluff said wait hold up I will only fight you at a catchweight of 164 and used the whole I am the A side the fight will be at the catchweight I dictate. So now that the tables are turned GGG and his fans have a problem with it? The irony.

Canelo is a bigger star and draw compared to GGG then GGG is compared to Ward. The fight will be at his weight and terms or not at all. If he passes on the GGG and his fans can continuing debating with boxing fans why his resume is so thin and why despite better fighters being at 154 and 168 did he stay put at 160 unlike other alltime greats who when they were in a weak division and couldn't get bigger names they moved up or down to get bigger fights.

"Absolutely...This is business. I understand...this is boxing business...not a lot of weight to lose...last fight, I'm 58...I'm not big guy," stated undefeated middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin, who insists that he can make 154 pounds for a mega-fight with Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao.
