Irrelevant nonsense. Tell Ward to step up.
Ward moved up and signed to fight a tougher fighter in Kovalev.....I'm sure you'll have an opinion on it but those are the facts at the moment. GGG is a great fighter but he needs a signature fight soon.

lol at this ******... Let's see, take $0 and not get the Cotto fight or take $800,000 to not get the Cotto fight.

life must be a complete struggle being so dumb.
^^^^Brought a smile to my face.

What Canelo is dangling right now is the possibility of the Sept fight. So in reality GGG has no reason to say no, because at this moment, what difference does it make? He can still force Canelo to vacate at the end of May if no deal is reached, and in the meantime he can still do either his IBF mando or take a shot at Jacobs or Saunders (doubtful he could get either one, but doesnt cost anything to try).

So odds are he gets the IBF mando out of the way in March/April, and if Canelo wont negotiate in May then he forces a strippage. GGG gains nothing by doing that now. He would be in the same position, only with instead of a 50-50 chance he gets Canelo in Sept, its a zero chance
that's what I thought, haven't heard of any my self either...

Do you see Matthysse being talked about anymore?

Remember, we had to endure all the Matthysse talk for 3 years. He was like the hottest thing in the planet from 2010 to 2013. Golovkin blew up 2012 and has lasted 3 years fighting bums. But give it time, after 2016 Golovkin will be an afterthought. And the irony of it all is that the person who will make him an afterthought is probably a fighter who's accused of ducking him.
What's the point of bringing up Matthysse when it comes to Golovkin? There are people who have been talking about Golovkin since his amateur days and continued talking about him throughout his pro career in Germany. The talent has always been obvious and within the boxing community he's always been a fighter people kept an eye on. The same can't be said about Matthysse who no one even knew existed until he lost a couple decisions to Judah and Alexander.

Of Canelo actually man's up and fights his mandatory Golovkin will be talked about even more after he wins. Of course, if Canelo continues to avoid him, which you've made clear numerous times that is what you want Canelo to do, he's going to be in the same situation - being ignored by the top guys in the division.

We have come full circle. Golovkin was ducking Cotto all along. Dumdumdum!

I hope Santa brought you some brains for Christmas.

                It's a hypothesis I suppose.
Because there are more lucrative fights out there for them even after paying the step-aside fees. Why is GGG accepting the step-aside fees if he really wants the belt?

Hey man great thread. Maybe next you wanna tell me that Cotto was being ducked by GGG and GGG was scared of the puerto rican champ. That Cotto really wanted the fight and GGG ducked on purpose to get the 800K. Pipe dreams of a fool.

While 'taking step aside money to avoid the fight' is total nonsense, if GGG truly wants to unify the division, why doesn't he refuse the step aside money, make them vacate the title, fight #2 for the belt and more money (than the step aside fee) and have another title and be closer to unifying the division?

Yeah, he's not getting the big pay day he's after if he does this but at least he'd be fulfiling what him and his fans claim he's doing by at least trying to unify.

It's too convienient saying, 'if he refuses the step aside money, there'll be no fight and Canelo would vacate'. That would be Canelo's problem and would make it a blatant duck while GGG will get the opportunity to fight for the vacated title and be closer to fulfilling his "ambition."

It seems all too easy to just accept the step aside money. GGG can somewhat corner them into a position where they would have to make the fight or vacate, accepting the money or a false promise of a future fight does nothing but allow these titles to be held hostage by fighters from the lower weight class.

Little G said his goal/dream is to unify all the titles at MW, taking step aside fees is counter productive to his goal and proves he's bull****ting you all.
