If they aren't ducking him then why are they paying him not to fight them??????? Bribing a guy near a million bucks not to fight you sure sounds like ducking to me. If they aren't ducking him why don't they just fight him???? They clearly are never going to fight him no matter how you spin it. Cotto was never going to fight GGG and that is just as sure as death and taxes. GGG would rather win a title in the ring than have the vacated title given to him. GGG took the "I don't want to fight you" bribe money because it beat the hell out of getting nothing and still no fight.

Again he wasn't getting Cotto no matter what the WBC would have mandated he wouldn't have gotten Cotto. It took Canelo damn near 2 years to get Cotto and Nelo is a much bigger name than GGG. Ggg knew his only chance to get Cotto was to play ball and remain the mandatory. Had he declined the step aside, all Cotto would have done was drop the belt.
Same thing is happening with Canelo here. After the weak PPV's by GGG in against Lemieux, Oscar who was already hesitant to make a Canelo vs GGG fight probably told GGGs team they can either take a tune up or go F themselves.
2 choices: Dont get the fight right now and pocket zero, or dont get the fight right now and pocket $800,000.
derrrrrrrrrrrrrr which one should I choose?? derrrrrrrrrLast edited by OnePunch; 12-25-2015, 10:19 PM.

They're in denial about GGG. Just give it time.
Do you see Matthysse being talked about anymore?
Remember, we had to endure all the Matthysse talk for 3 years. He was like the hottest thing in the planet from 2010 to 2013. Golovkin blew up 2012 and has lasted 3 years fighting bums. But give it time, after 2016 Golovkin will be an afterthought. And the irony of it all is that the person who will make him an afterthought is probably a fighter who's accused of ducking him.

He was supposed to get Cotto next fight after the June 2015 fight, he didn't get it
He was supposed to get Canelo after he beat Cotto, he didn't get it.
Is he really stepping aside to get the fight? Or is he taking money to avoid the fight?Last edited by kafkod; 12-25-2015, 09:46 PM.

Oh and no s**t GGG is gonna fade in a few years. He's 33. His reflexes and mobility aren't ever gonna improve.

What Canelo is dangling right now is the possibility of the Sept fight. So in reality GGG has no reason to say no, because at this moment, what difference does it make? He can still force Canelo to vacate at the end of May if no deal is reached, and in the meantime he can still do either his IBF mando or take a shot at Jacobs or Saunders (doubtful he could get either one, but doesnt cost anything to try).
So odds are he gets the IBF mando out of the way in March/April, and if Canelo wont negotiate in May then he forces a strippage. GGG gains nothing by doing that now. He would be in the same position, only with instead of a 50-50 chance he gets Canelo in Sept, its a zero chance
